Having used my iphone 6s+ for a year I feel it has the best iphone display for sharpness and brightness (i chose it over the 6 for these reasons). It is also amazingly fast, but I cant shake the feeling its just too big. Living with it day to day is a chore due to its size and weight. I'm 6 foot and I have large hands and while I have developed the muscle memory to use it one handed I've decided I want a change instead of lugging around a mini tablet. Always having to take it out of the pocket when I sit at my desk or driving my car. Not really being able to use it while walking because of the fear of dropping it. It's not a convenient device to use (FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS). I like to use my phones one handed and it's a little tough with the plus size.

Now of course I had to try the 7+ but felt it was not any different in performance from the 6s+. Not enough to justify the extra cost. The 7 looks amazing in matt black and performances really well but the resolution kinda bothered me (as it did with the 6 and 6s - still not 1080p) and the size is still a touch too large (wide) to hold comfortable as this phone is as slippery as a bar of soap. I like to use my iphones without a case so was too fearful I would eventually drop it. And the prices in the UK, wow £700 - its a tough one to swallow! Also out of the 2 iphone 7's I tried the displays where dimmer and yellower than my 6s+. Meanwhile the display models in the Apple stores are bright and white.....?!

I've just purchased an iphone 5s as a present for a family member and it reminded me how much I loved the form factor. With a nice Piel frama unipur case this phone fits in any pocket. The SE brings the performance I require, a decent camera and is very light. I've always had black iphones so I thought I'd mix it up I went for a white SE 64gb and couldn't be happier. The white makes the phone look a little bigger to me and while I know there will be a period of adjustment to hit those keyboard targets I will get there in a few days. And for £400, almost half the price of the 7 for what feels to me like a device which performs just as well. Ok so its half the storage size of the 128GB but I dont need that much space.

Here's to Apple either keeping the SE size alive of shrinking the 8 down (and making the screen 1080p at least).

True story.

I sympathize, I really do. Not only do I think the Plus line is too large for me, I also really dislike the design language being used since the 6.

But cameras have kept me on the Plus line since the 6 and that doesn't look like it will be changing anytime soon.

Well the 7 now has optical stabilisation so is on par with 6+ at least. But on the down side it blurs and smudges like a Samsung phone in my tests.

Lots of people in the same boat. I feel like if someone has never tried the SE they should. It's a beast.

Not only do I appreciate being able to reach all areas of the screen with my thumb again I also like how it sticks to my hand. The iphone 7 is a lovely object like a piece of jewellery but the finish on the matt black at least made my hand sweat and the curved edges meant there was hardly any grip. I still had to adjust my grip to go from home button to top of screen (while praying it didn't slip). With iphone it really is the little things that make the difference for me.

^ the 4.7" phones are still too large to reach every part of the screen for most people. I feel like if I'm using a 7 I mine as well use the 7+ because both are not true 1 handed devices.

Got my wife an SE earlier this year. It is fantastic. And so light. After using my 7+ it feels like a toy, and i mean that in a good way.

I like the se but honestly if leaving a plus I'd likely go to a regular 7.

I don't think the iPhone se is 1080p it only has a screen resolution of 1136x640‑pixel resolution at 326 ppi which is not full 1080p,it has the same screen resolution that iPhone 5 and 5s had,or did you mean you wish it had 1080p? Either way hope it works out for you. I love my 7 plus and could never go back to a smaller phone, but that's why Apple has different size phones because we all have different needs

i am using plus models from two years now, the big reason to get Plus model over the regular was longer battery life and 1080p display

Agreed. The SE suffers from a poor resolution, which is expected from a 4" display. The new 7 and 7 Plus have beautiful displays, with the contrast and color
Ratio.

My partner has a 5s and I have a 6S Plus. I love the screen on the larger iPhone but agree with the OP that it's form factor is just too big. Conversely, the 5s is just too small for me now.

Get rid of the damn bezels, Apple! A 7 Plus without the bezels may have pursuaded me to upgrade. If the bezels are still here next year I'll go to the 'regular' iPhone 8 - especially if it packs the dual camera!

I love my SE, and I recently switched from ATT to VZW and I guess I could have gotten a 7 if I wanted too, but I opted for to bring my SE over to VZW. Luckily it was unlocked (I had no idea it was) and I didn't have to buy another phone.

As far as I'm concerned, the bottom bezel on the iPhone is smaller than just about every Android device outside of Samsung devices and the top bezel doesn't have an impact on usability.

I would really prefer that they stay the size they are. I couldn't tell you how many times I've had accidental touch input on my LG G2 vs not recalling any on my iPhone's.

Those bezels certainly make the phone longer (than I would like it to be)!

I think the ~4" screen size will endure as ideal for many people. I'm still partial to it myself, although I have a 6.

I would love it if Apple shrunk the bezels around the 7. More likely they will do so and increase the screen size to something like 5" and increase res to 1080. Also very alluring.

Would you have considered the Pixel with Verizon, if you had the option between the iPhone 7?

The 7 camera is better than the 6S camera lol

No need for lols, the camera isn't that much better on the 7 sadly.

Yea I meant that my wish is for a 1080p screen.
