Haha golden ratio. Yeah if you love them then go for it

4.7" to me feels more of a playing catch up size with competitors, without actually going the full mile of 5" standard.

5.5" is huge especially with the huge bezels, but nice too,

this is entirely preference though!

I keep toying with the idea of buying the big 'un (a 6S+, via Swappa), and SIM-swapping with my SE -- I'm down with your pov of the mid-size being "master of none" -- but I stop myself when I think what a PITA the 5.5" must be to carry around. (I owned the 6S+ briefly, when it first came out; didn't love it, didn't hate it; I think my jones to try it again is just something I should ignore...)

It's not how big it is when you're using it it's how big it is when you're not using it. I would not want to own a phone I couldn't put in my pocket

iPhone Plus is to big, iPhone SE looks like to small for most people.
I think solution is iPhone 6s/7/7s,... But on iPhone SE video clips on youtube are visible nicely when you turn phone.
If you want really nice look than only around 5.5" is OK.
iPhone SE is perfect for pocket... But iPhone 7 fit in most pocket. I love to wear tight jackets with a lot of pockets and always have some nice place for iPhone inside or even on sleeves.
