i am using plus models from two years now, the big reason to get Plus model over the regular was longer battery life and 1080p display

For those two reasons alone the Plus models are awesome but I have an ipad for heavy browsing etc and just wanted a pocketable workhorse for day to day use. I've also combined it with an Apple Watch so spend even less time using my phone now, which is a good thing.

Agreed. The SE suffers from a poor resolution, which is expected from a 4" display. The new 7 and 7 Plus have beautiful displays, with the contrast and color
Ratio.

Poor resolution? Due to its size the display looks great with its 326ppi resolution. The 6, 6s and 7 have the same ppi but as the screens are larger they don't look as sharp, at least not to me. Also the brightness was an issue on the models of the 7 and 7 plus I handled, they were dimmer than the older models. My friends 5s has the brightest and whitest display I have seen for a while. Overall the best display is in the Plus models as they are 1080p.

I owned the SE, 6s and 7 Plus. The SE screen resolution is not nearly as vibrant with contrast and color ratio in terms with the 6s and 7 Plus, obviously, being the larger models have advantages over the SE. That's one of the downfalls with the SE, was the screen. Side by side comparison will show you its differences.

the SE is still great. but its up to you, in my opinion i say just get what makes you happy.

It really is alot better.

are you a photographer? because if you aren't then i could take a picture on a 4s that would be better than what someone could take on a 7. its not the camera, its the person behind it.

Thankfully I did my own tests over the course of a week and came to my own conclusions. I happy with my choice (and the 3 hundred pound price difference).
I did my own tests as well. There was a group of friends there as well. None of them are forum members nor really care. All of them said the pictures taken by the 7 were better than the 6S.

The 7 easily has a better camera over the 6s and SE. And this is coming from a 7 and 7 Pus owner.

Bad choice.
The SE is a frankenstein phone , the overall design is from the iphone 5 , released nearly 5 years ago.
It contains a load of parts , all thrown together, ranging from the iphone 5S , through to the 6S. Ultimately producing a product that Apple can produce as cheap as possible, without even really trying.

I agree wholeheartedly. The fact that it still starts at 16GB makes it obsolete right out of the box. If you go for a 64GB, the price increase sort of defeats the purpose of a budget phone.

The SE is a great little phone. I have both the SE and the 6s plus. The reason why I
keep my SE comes down to one thing, the size. On my days off from work I need a
pocketable phone. The 6s plus is way too big for that, at least for me.

you're one of those people who can never be happy. if you're going to say that i can say that the 7 is just an iPhone 6 that was released 2 years ago and is just a bunch of other stuff thrown together.

I do not agree with you at all, for pieces all thrown together, it works just as well as the 6s plus is pretty
darn good in my book. It is a quality phone, not cheap at all.

Above is proof Apple used recycled parts in the SE, when has Apple ever used recycled parts in their other phones? They haven't.

SE is also missing many other features like:

Barometer
Taptic engine
7000 series aluminium
Larger storage option
3d touch
Second gen touch id

yes it doesnt have that. but its a lot less expensive and a way better phone. lots of companies re-use parts from the past, from car companies, computers and everything in between, its more economical to do so. the SE is mostly an iPhone 6s in a 5s shell. but even then the finish on the phone is different from the 5s. it is still a great phone nonetheless.

My 6S plus doesn't contain any recycled parts it was a completely newly designed phone at time of release. Same can't be said for the SE

i wouldn't be so sure about that. every company tries to save money. its just the nature of how the world works. i'm not trying to argue. but it happens with everything.

Find me an article , where it says most of the components in the 6S plus, or any other iphone are recycled. You won't find one

Iphone SE is a powerful, ultrapocketable phone...but what's the point of the power if you are limited to accessing it via a screen that is low rez and visibly dimmer and lower contrast than the more recent models?

Speed means very little these days. I had a Samsung Galaxy Alpha for a few months and with the "mid-to-low-range" CPU on it, I couldnt find a need for more speed. So the Iphone SE "power" is overhyped IMO.

Do you swap your sim?

yep!

pretty seamless, aside from conversations not being fully synced up sometimes. i just make sure iMessage activates properly and send from my # not email,

way more seamless than when i sim swap'd between a galaxy nexus and 4s back in the day

watch is on os3.1, so only syncs with 7+ but I'm ok with it would be a pain to unsync and resync with devices even if you could (had 6s plus on 9.3.3 just like SE until i sold it to pay for part of 7+ purchase)

Wouldn't an iPhone 7 cover all bases?

Wouldn't an iPhone 7 cover all bases?

in theory. and for some sure,

but for me it was a jack of all trades master of none mix/midpoint between the perfect one-handedness that is that golden ratio of ergonomically sound (5/5s/SE), and the huge phablet that compromises on comfort but pays off with an immersive and impressive screen, at least. and 2 cameras, and +1gb of ram. and battery. battery most of all, if you're going to get the smart battery, that cost $99, might as well just get the nicer phone for $129 and not have that hump thing going on,

7 has a bigger screen than SE, and certainly nicer screen undoubtedly like 7+, but didnt feel worth it for half arsed one-handedness that is clumsy, in my week of using it.
same with battery life compromise, it was upsetting my SE smoked 7 on battery.

...that and SE is jailbroken, 7+ is not. eventually when 7+ can be, it will be too. I ride that wave.

to each his own? I'm a phone junkie,
