But seriously, if you know you want this and you haven't placed an order by now, I'd expect stock to be pretty constrained for the holiday. Some of the BTO models are slipping closer to Christmas.
This is one thing I don't get about Apple. Anything above base is surely vastly more profitable, yet base is always available for delivery tomorrow while extra memory or storage has a delivery forecast of "Maybe not today; maybe not tomorrow, but soon".... (at least that's my experience of ordering stuff from the UK Apple store).

Just a bit of a joke, but... I won't be surprised if one of the most prominent tech Youtubers will upload a video tomorrow and one of his first opening lines: "okay, so I have been using a Mac with M1 processor for the past week”
Spot on?

The great thing with YouTube is that everyone can find their own reviewer they like. I watch MKHB for the extreme production value and "hype"(in a good way). Linus and others provide me with raw power benchmarks. The only thing personally I don't like is apple fanboyism (I can do that my self). I think its great that Apple is called out for their horrible repair and App store policy, I can say that while still loving the products for decades.

I personally don't care about non-upgradable ram and the threat of the closed garden as I feel that the pros outweigh the cons for my usage but I totally get that it is more important for other people. It doesn't make them "haters" or "biased" just because they value other things than I do.

Again maybe mkhd is ok, but anandtech or even guys from here who told us they ordered 1 of every M1 and they will compare with the intel one will be the most interesting

Gamers Nexus is the ONLY YouTuber who does really deep analysis of CPUs and GPUs but as the name implies he focuses on PCs. So for anything else on that level I go to Anandtech’s site.

Since all reviews of new stuff came out at around that hour, and before people got their devices in hands..i was right for november event on 10..because clear apple has an agenda how do they do things this year
And since tomorrow i will get mine, i suppose today is the only day..but maybe ill be wrong ..but for me tomorrow will be too late since i will test it in person
Lets see if today is the day..a few more hours

I’ll have to live vicariously through the reviews... just got my shipping notification and my MBP doesn’t arrive until next Tuesday.

My gripe, and maybe it's just me, is that it seems most of the YouTubers take ten minutes to present information conveyable in two sentences.
I do feel sorry for them though, it seems to be a never-ending battle with Youtube's algorithms to get your video out there and seen by the most people possible - hence the clickbait titles, varying length etc.

GN really is the gold standard of reviews. Too bad they really don't have anything to do with Apple (and if you've seen the PowerMac G5 videos, are pretty clueless in general about them). But they're very much into the DIY-ethic and Apple products just don't appeal to those kinds of guys.

Two prominent tech YTs were fielding questions about the M1 machines on Twitter yesterday.

Both run decent video tests, I am curious but am sure the Air will be fine for me.
Biggest question is what the sustained compute load will look like on the Air vs Pro. i.e. how much impact does the active vs passive cooling have on system throughput and what impact does that have on case temperatures such as the bottom case.

That said, the Pro is typically the better choice for those who expect to do frequent sustained compute loads and/or are concerned with how quickly those compute loads complete. And that includes those insistent on watching software-decoded videos in Chrome. :p

Any minute now?

I really expected 9AM EST today.... I guess the embargos must end 9AM tomorrow instead? But then again New Zealand folks will be able to buy them in ~5 hours, so maybe it's just a later time today. I checked the embargo lift time on some other MacBook releases and they vary a little bit. The 12" 2015 MacBook embargo didn't lift until 12PM Eastern.
