Well, speaking for myself, I have a 24" HP LP2465 (ca. US$650) and absolutely love it. I was lucky and got mine for roughly half the price of the, IMO, ancient and inferior Apple 23" display.

ADC Update
Has anyone ordered a 2.4 GHz 7200 rpm MBP through the Apple Developer Connection store? I ordered mine June 24 and it's still "not yet shipped." Delivery estimate is August 7. I hope i don't have to wait that long.

my coworker ordered a stock 2.4 through the developer's store on July 12th and it shipped July 24th.
One solid month

Just talked to the Apple dealer, and after 7 weeks Apple hasn't even started to build the computer. Do I have to fly over to China and build it myself???

I would try calling back and seeing if you get a different rep, maybe they will give you some kind of discount.
It's here! 16 calendar days from Order to Arrival. I think it's a reasonable delay - compare to many back in late July.

The delivery person signed "FEDEX" himself and left the package OUTSIDE the house!
They are lucky it isn't damaged by rain or lost or who knows what. I could easily have said I didn't receive anything, or it was stolen - and they would probably have to send me another machine.

i ordered my 2.4ghz 7200 rpm on the 6th july, recieved on the 26th (the earliest date apple quoted when i ordered)

After 5 long weeks, my MBP is finally prepared for shipment! I ordered a 2.4 7200rpm 2GB Matte through the ADC store on June 24, 2007. Any more experiences with the new or old power brick?

a few of us ordered around the 18th and 19th of July. So, they are at least up to that order point. It was right in Apple's estimated time on their website, around 2 weeks.
Maybe a tiny little bit know that you have mentioned it. Ive had it for a month and not noticed it so defiantly not an issue.
