Now that iPhones will have to play nice with Android texting, Apple is going to add a bunch of iPhone only features to texting because it can only really compete if it has a monopoly on something.

The usefulness of the ever increasing number of emojis are nonexistent, since the primary function to convey emotional cues suffers because of it.

Now that Mark Gurman has predicted “scheduled massages” to come to iPhone at last, I hope that he will also “predict” an AI upscaler to alleviate the limitations of digital zoomed photos ;)

in the most stilted, awkward fashion possible. stickers appear lazily slapped over the message, giving horribly uneven margins to everything in the thread. emojis can’t be found using the search function, limiting you to scrolling through the emoji and praying you don’t accidentally tap on the wrong one, otherwise you’re pretty much stuck with it. this was my attempt to show you using an iMessage thread with myself. the two emoji besides the facepalm were accidental.

this is an embarrassingly overdue update when Apple consistently touts themselves as having best-in-class messaging. other apps have made inline emoji reaction incredibly simple for years where Apple has not.
You are not stuck with them. Long press and select Sticker Details, then slide left on the stickers you want to remove.

It’s 2024, you’d think iMessage would be smart enough to only show the emojis available for both parties. Not everyone can run iOS 18.
