Oh dear God. I ran today with the newest update on AW.
Crashes - 1 during the run, 4 or 5 after run.
Seconds change is clunky, lags for 2-3 seconds, pauses are now also slow, you need to wait few seconds to pause.
Often times when run was paused there was no stats, only 2 buttons.
That's it, I'm done with this app. I even installed RunGap 2 weeks ago, but they released this decent update, so I didn't migrate. But today I wanted to, but RunGap doesn't support exporting to Nike...
Luigi - are you trying to export a run from another app to Nike? If run Gap can see the run, you can export it as a gpx or tcx file and upload the run using the tcx—>Nike converter.

You have to put in your nike credentials, but it seemed legit.

Thanks ftaok. Is there any other solution? This is a'okay, but requires too many steps.
I agree that it’s too cumbersome. I don’t think there’s an app that exports gpx/tcx into Nike. However, there are a few running apps that will export to Nike after the run.

I use iSmoothRun and it works pretty good. Way better than nrc ever did. It is very stable, and interacts with the AW very nicely. Upon completing the run, it allows for export of data to various databases. Nike is included. I upload to Nike and smashrun.

Guys, so what's the verdict on these? What are the best running apps to pair with AW in terms of accuracty etc?

I've been using Sports Tracker & Runtastic PRO on my iPhone, but I've read some pretty bad critiques regarding the latter. So what's the verdict?

Depends on what you’re looking for. If you don’t need to see your data on a website or export to an already established service, it’s hard to beat the built-in workout app. Very simple and easy to use. Large numbers are easy to see.

Otherwise, I’m currently using iSmoothRun because it’s simple, works well with the AW, and exports to smashrun and Nike.

All of these apps will be generally the same accuracy. Within a % or 2.

I've tried a few so far. Here is what I've found.

Strava: Seemed decent. Really liked the notifications. Would have liked auto-pause, but I read too many reviews of that coming on every time you raised your watch to look at it during the workout. Didn't actually test that feature as a result.

built-in workout app: Liked it more than Strava since it gave me the ability to pause by pressing the two side buttons. However, the tracking seemed a bit off, especially at the start and end of my runs. Used RunGap to export to Strava.

iSmoothRun: Like the fact that it gives you more detail in terms of distance (ie, 3.57 miles instead of 3.5 miles). Auto-pause works well. Notifications are easy to miss (very soft and short sound). Need to play in the settings more as I ran into a problem with finishing a run at 3 miles recently and the summary screen that pops up after each mile wouldn't let me force-touch to pause the workout. Exports to Strava without need for a third-party solution (RunGap).

Overall, iSmoothRun may be the most accurate for me so far, though I need a bit more time to test. One of the reasons I bought it was because I thought I'd read that it has a satellite status indicator. However, I suspect that may be on the iPhone app only as I haven't seen such a thing on the watch itself.
