I suggest you just stick to Apple and we all will be happy.

Please refrain from personal attacks. Just stating my opinion on how Samsung is handling the hardware here. They are screwing up in the US market with a soon to be obsolete CPU.

I have a feeling Samsung is going to lose a lot of Android users because Android users are all about the specs and would probably want the 800 or T4.

So you think it is dead on arrival. My opinion is, dont buy it! .

This phone is dead on arrival. They are going to use Snapdragon 600 in the US when the 800 is coming out in 2 months.

Oh you must mean DOA like the dual core North American S3. Yeah, DOA indeed. What a joke of an opinion. GS3 will more than likely be the biggest Android handset again. Let's see, better screen, better CPU/GPU, better camera, and more features. What absent minded consumer would buy this?

The snapdragon 600 is a fantastic processor and certainly faster than most devices out there. The HTC One got over 20,000 on AnTuTu with its Snapdragon 600 processor, putting it well above anything out there already.

With the S4 clocked slightly higher it should bench even higher. Considering the S3 gets around 11,000 on AnTuTu you are looking at nearly double performance in the benchmark.

So to say its obsolete, when the Xperia Z/ZL ( Sony's flagship) don't use it, and both HTC's One (confirmed to be HTC's only flagship 2013) and the Samsung Galaxy S4 (which undoubtably will be the best selling android handset this year) are using the Snapdragon 600, so saying its obsolete is talking absolute nonsense.

Specs mean nothing if this phone comes out in plastic.

Samsung need to boost the flagship range to premium status.

The galaxy has sold well because it is typically half the price of an iPhone over the course of a contract. Main reason to buy one over an iPhone previously was price or a dislike for ois. There are now decent androidphones in the Sony Z and HTC one.

Why choose a children's plastic device when there are now real alternatives to the iPhone.

----------

A metal or glass shell should be higher on the criteria list when buying a £500 phone rather than whether it has a 600 or 800 processor.

It is better to own a slower Ferrari than a fast ford focus rs when paying top money.

Plasticis fine for cheap phones. They aren't for top end models.

Speak for yourself! Aluminum scratches/bends and glass cracks breaks. Aluminum is also a cheap material - that's why they use it for tin foil and drinks cans!

I find the fact that the Galaxy phones have been made in polycarbonate a plus point. No need to worry about them getting scratched or damaged - yet if they did I can buy a replacement back for a few pounds.

I hold the S3 and to me it feels like a quality product, certainly not cheap as everyone keeps saying - but thats just me.

I had the Nexus 4 for one day and I wasnt a fan of the glass. Was one of the reasons why I got rid of it, didnt want the worry of it cracking or breaking.

Its pretty much 100% that the S4 will be made of polycarbonate and im over the moon with that.

The plastic used on the S3 and Note 2 are the same flex grade as plastic forks and spoons - not premium material.

And the iPhone and HTC One use anodized aluminum which is higher grade than your foil and tin cans. Obviously some people here haven't held an iPhone and felt the difference.

Well ive just tried to bend my S3 like a plastic fork and its still in one piece undamaged.

Again, is this fact or your opinion? Still doesnt alter my personal opinion. Some prefer polycarbonate, some prefer aluminum.

Sure you did.
The back on the S3 can easily bend and snap with little pressure. That is fact. It is poor quality material that is easily cracked and scratched.

You got that link yet, or the other one I asked you for? Thought not.

Go to the store and try it yourself. You'll see the low-grade plastic buckle from very little pressure. That is why whenever I am in the Verizon store I will tell customers looking at the S3 or Note 2 to stay away because they will be spending a lot more money on replacement backs.

I've had a SGS3, I don't need to. Still no link?

When its connected to the back of the phone?

Not only in that case but when you drop the phone and the back pops off. If Samsung is going to have a removable back, at least make it stay on. They take shortcuts on the build quality and then on the mechanism holding the phone together as well.

The iphone is so premium and high grade that it came pre-scuffed out of the box.

So no, not while it's connected the phone. Because only you would take the back of the phone and try to snap it and claim it's not premium.

I find that highly unlikely.

Polycarbonate (strong plastic) is a lot harder to scratch/damage than aluminium.

That is wrong actually. Polycarbonate is 1-2 on Mohs hardness scale while Aluminum is 3.5-4.

And 45% of people who responded to this thread had scuffs straight out of the box or shortly after.

I'm not one of them. I am one that had issues with the hardware of the S3 and software as well.
