Spouse complains about M7 battery once in a while. Why are they make it smaller than M7 battery. Did they even try copying iPhone battery specs? Samsung making decent progress in terms of designs with rumored Note 4, S5 and making baby step towards metal phones with alpha. For me, the only real downside is the battery. The 2300mAh on my HTC One (M7) barely gets me through a day, there is no way the Alpha's 1800mAh battery will do it.
Oh let's hope not. While I would much rather see HTC or LG on top to see what they could do as the lead dog, I hope we don't ever see the same dominance from another Android OEM as we've seen from Samsung. It's just not good for the platform when one OEM has a stranglehold on the market share - especially an OEM with poor software and inefficient hardware.
Or maybe you mean it's not good for Apple to face an equal competitor #
Now that the marketing dollars are fading and Apple is pushing them out, their starting to decline. Which is GOOD for HTC. And LG, Sony, Huawei, and the countless other Android OEMs who make great products but had been overshadowed by the Samsung marketing machine.
I've read awesome things about the LG G3. And if my experience with the HTC One M7 is any indication, the M8 is a great phone as well.Well said! And I would say those OEMs you mentioned not only make great products but make far superior products than Samsung in my opinion let alone their software as well.
Bingo that's the thinking i reckon.Maybe they didn't want to give it high end specs because they already have the SGS5 and Note 4 for that. Having three high end flagships in one year would be crazy and they would end up eating sales from each other.
People would stop buying the SGS5 if the Alpha were the same but thinner and with metal.
Overall it's an interesting phone IMO, but that price... not worth it.
It looks nothing like iPhone at all. Including the location of camera icon.
I still don't understand the dimples. I just don't like them.
Samsung can't even get right the choice of colors for their phones... Man, the blue and gold just look awful to me.
I don't like the dimples either....but all in all its a good looking phone......
If Samsung thinks they'll get people who want the iPhone 6 to buy the Galaxy Alpha, then it needs to have at least the same specs as the Galaxy S5.
I'd always pick the Galaxy S5 if I had to choose between the Galaxy Alpha and the Galaxy S5. That metal around it is meaningless if everything else on it is worse.
For me, the only real downside is the battery. The 2300mAh on my HTC One (M7) barely gets me through a day, there is no way the Alpha's 1800mAh battery will do it.
1. Octacore processor, I mean two quad cores (one is faster). The process switches depend on needs.
2. Smaller screen size (4.7inch).
3. Amoled display. (consumes less power)
4. 720p
I read some where that Alpha could play video for 11 hours without charging.
