Sorry not digging it at all. Can someone explain what the point of the Galaxy F is? Is it because there was a ho-hum response to the S5 so Samsung decided to release a "premium" (aka) metal phone?

Seems like Samsung is throwing out everything it can before the larger iPhones release , don't think it matters....

It doesn't matter, because the S5 will sell a bajillion of them and so will the 6.

Breaking news: Apple people like Apple, Android people like Android, and the small sliver of people in the middle are irrelevant.

If it's released in the US I will buy it :)

It won't be. This will be for the Asia markets. Samsung released variants of their flagship devices every year for them and they don't make it over here. I'm willing to be my left arm on it.

Looks just like all the other phones.
I like samsung resigns, but they just need to get rid of the touch buttons at the bottom!

People will still moan about samsung even if it is metal...they can't win really.

It's not that they can't win ... it's that they have an uncanny ability to make things looks tackier than they need to. That back on the prime in the press renderings looks awful ... more so than the S5 back current.

Must admit that I would not buy it if it looked like that (It isn't exactly an advertisement standard photo though, just Google "Galaxy F image" to see some stunning renditions very unlike the one from the OP). I quite like the look and feel of my S5 as it stands, the water resistant nature of it is a big plus in my job (something only a few other manufacturers incorporate). It would be nice to see what the upgraded innards and undoubted gorgeous 5.3 inch screen of the Galaxy F brought to the party though.

I think the Galaxy F just looks ugly. Looks like a Gold plated space time capsule.

I think all gold phones look bad....not a good color for anything except jewelry.....even then....Samsung needs to take a hard look at the M8 and make something similar only a hair wider......JMHO

The guys in the middle have both and don't care what people think :p

Exactly. The middle zone is small and either comprised of people who will just buy whatever looks nice or is on sale that day or people who have the money to buy both. Apple isn't going to wow many Samsung and HTC users away, nor will those two amaze Apple users.

Apple's market share is going to stay the same or shrink a little depending on how well Windows phones become, and Google will remain a monolith just because if you go into Best Buy the cell phone area is a boatload of Android devices and one small area for iPhones.

Oh yes, one reason I gave up the Nexus. Hates those stupid touch buttons.

I can't count how often I pressed the damn thing accidentally.

Amen. I love the capacitive buttons on my Note 2. Never have that annoying feeling that they're stealing my screen space, and my fingers always know where they are without me having to look...

We are not irrelevant, on the contrary. We support the innovation of other vendors.
