Why? I dont mine the buttons and you get the whole screen usage all the time.

You don't find them annoyingly sensitive? I hate it most while watching Netflix, where I might brush my palm over the back or menu (this one especially as it takes me to that Samsung search when I just rest my palm on the phone). Anyway, the annoying thing w/ Netflix is that it has to re-load/buffer if you mis-hit the button.

Also, I would be interested to see Samsung do a design like this w/o having a removable back cover, in parallel w/ the Galaxy S, made of plastic w/ a removable cover. I just don't see the point of having a removable, aluminum or some other metal back.

Nope, i never had a problem with them. I especially like how you can rearrange them on the LG G2 and i assume teh G3 will have it as well. I prefer to have the back button on the right as opposed to the left like it is on my N5.

Many people see the point of having a removable cover. Some actually buy extra battery's and back covers for them to give it a different look or just to replace it if it cracks when they dont use a case. I had an extra battery and three back covers that cost $5 to 8 dollars each. One had leather on it and gave it more grip.

Me too...it seems to make more senses and easier to use this way....

Even if it is released here I'd probably pass on it because I don't see it doing anything appreciably better than my S5.

It's too close generation wise to not be way too incremental.

I'll wait for the S6 which is not all that far off. A little over 9 months, and my S5 is really solid.

I'd be more interested in seeing a modern take on the flip phone. Maybe some of those fancy flip phones that NTT DoCoMo has available over in Japan. I've always been a fan of the flip phone and would give up my Lumia 928 in an instant for a flip phone that doesn't look like it came right out of 2003.

Ya I'd prefer the back button the same way.

I wasn't disregarding the removable cover, I have no arguments against the utility of having an interchangeable cover and replaceable battery. I was just thinking that if Samsung were to cave and join HTC and Apple in a 'more premium design' by using aluminum, it would make sense to encase the phone in aluminum as opposed to, let's say, just the back cover. So you can see it as a differentiator, people who love a removable battery and changeable cover can stick with the GS, the people who desire a 'premium build' can opt into a GF.

For some reason I can't wrap my head around an aluminum cover that flexes.

It just happened:

http://www.androidcentral.com/samsu...te-qhd-display-snapdragon-805-cpu-south-korea

Boom.

I just realized other people posted this same thing, kinda takes the enthusiasm away from my boom, but I'll live with it!

Looks like it is Korea only. Is it possible to integrate LTE chip with 805? I was reading something different in other threads. I think, Note 4 will be the next best thing from Samsung for us.

Does QHD makes any difference on 5" screen phone. LG G3 reviews are mixed even with 5.5" screen. Screen sucked out every soc gain from that phone. Screen performance is also took a step back from G2 except for QHD. Anandtech review will give us further details.

No metal but very internals :) finally 3gb of ram and i bet that phone handles like a champ.

That mean the Note 4 will get that QuadHD screen and i think 4GB of ram.

Why do they need to spend more money on metal shells when plastic is still going to sell very well? Confused...

Forget the metal, just give me a GS5 with an official switch allowed between "google android" and "touchwiz android". That is way more important. It's not like you can't get hundreds of health, heart rate, and sensor apps in playstore to replace that bloat.

well I hope you enjoyed your boom yourself anyway :D

You have no idea man, I was working at 2 AM when I saw saw that headline and that boom gave me the encouragement I needed to persevere in my work instead of going to sleep. At least until I found out my boom was someone else's boom all along. :(

Don't bet on it, i played with a note 12.2 today and with 2 apps open it was using 2.2gb.
Samsung need to double their ram on everything.

Android caches all your used/recent apps in RAM. Doesnt mean it affects performance as cached apps are unloaded when RAM is required. My note 3 has about 350mb free and it doesnt affect the performance even when using multi-window. That's how android works and obsession with free RAM is just FUD.

Exactly. The middle zone is small and either comprised of people who will just buy whatever looks nice or is on sale that day or people who have the money to buy both. Apple isn't going to wow many Samsung and HTC users away, nor will those two amaze Apple users.

Apple's market share is going to stay the same or shrink a little depending on how well Windows phones become, and Google will remain a monolith just because if you go into Best Buy the cell phone area is a boatload of Android devices and one small area for iPhones.

I'd be willing to bet Apple will gain a substantial piece of the pie with their iPhone release this fall.

Nothing substantial enough to hurt Android, but enough to set all kinds of records that will be difficult to break.

Could even bump them back up over 20% marketshare worldwide....

You only have a point to an extent. That's .7ish gb free which isn't really a cause for concern
Free ram is also wasted ram

Ios runs on very little free ram btw

I had a exynos note 3 and while I never pay attention to the ram usage the phone did not disappointed me, best battery I ever had on a phone and no lag whatsoever.

I'm using a iPhone 5s atm to run the betas and make up my mind easy in regards of the Note 4 and the rumored iphone 5.5"
