I had a exynos note 3 and while I never pay attention to the ram usage the phone did not disappointed me, best battery I ever had on a phone and no lag whatsoever.

I'm using a iPhone 5s atm to run the betas and make up my mind easy in regards of the Note 4 and the rumored iphone 5.5"

A note 3 with 3gb is a bit different than a note 12.2 with 3gb, you seen the size of that sucker:)

S5 should of had 3gb too.

I'd be willing to bet Apple will gain a substantial piece of the pie with their iPhone release this fall.

Nothing substantial enough to hurt Android, but enough to set all kinds of records that will be difficult to break.

Could even bump them back up over 20% marketshare worldwide....

When the iPhone releases, they sell a lot of them. Then the Galaxy releases, and THEY sell a lot of them. Back and forth, back and forth.

The fact Samsung sells so many phones compared to iPhone having just 1 each year plays a big role in that.

Agreed..

Didn't they say that flagship devices (s4, S5 series & variations and Note series) only make up around 35% of Samsung's phone sales. Meaning 65% of phone sales are low to mid range devices.

In which case their strategy is clearly working for them.

Seems like Samsung is throwing out everything it can before the larger iPhones release , don't think it matters....
To be fair, this phone was rumored prior to the GS5 release. However Apple has the right formula by only releasing 1 phone a year. I would't want to buy a companies flagship only to have it outdated a few months later.

Apple did release more than one phone. They released the 5s and the 5C. The 5c is plastic and tried to enter into the lower end sales market. The rumor is Apple will release 2 iPhones again this year. The rumored 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch iphones. I am not sure if there will plastic versions for each phone not.

And as such, Tizen will start pulling up, anchoring the margins for those sales. It is brilliance on Samsung's part. Hell, I thought before that they would pull away from Google and reap the profits off of their in-house services, but they keep their customers happy by keeping the Galaxy line on Android.

I can't get over this uptake in gold coloured phones. Apple just gets away with it, generally speaking though it just looks tacky.

Saw the S5 Gold coloured version today ... Wasn't a fan, but wasn't as bad as I suspected it might have been.

I don't mind the gold color as such, but of course it won't make a badly designed phone look good. I'm not too hot on the M8 (loved the M7 though) so I don't really fancy the gold version of that, but the iPhone 5s gold is quite nice.

Also I always thought this one was quite hot, in that retro scifi kind of way

Because...you started this whole thing...like you do all the time.
So lets recap.....
Skylitfly posts that he got a new phone (which happens to be gold in color). I tell him nice and congrats on the new phone to try to be nice and encourage other posters........
Later i express an opinion that i think gold phones are ugly IMHO.
Then you call me out as a liar....even going so far as to quote my previous post that i was encouraging someone that just bought a new phone.
Then you act all butt hurt when i tell you to back off and whats it to you anyway......

Dude you are one strange guy........

For the love of god he said "very nice" big deal lol does not means he likes gold phones.

Example is when you see a "ugly" baby, 99% of people will say oh he/she is cute :) just to not be rude.

Ya I'd prefer the back button the same way.

I wasn't disregarding the removable cover, I have no arguments against the utility of having an interchangeable cover and replaceable battery. I was just thinking that if Samsung were to cave and join HTC and Apple in a 'more premium design' by using aluminum, it would make sense to encase the phone in aluminum as opposed to, let's say, just the back cover. So you can see it as a differentiator, people who love a removable battery and changeable cover can stick with the GS, the people who desire a 'premium build' can opt into a GF.

For some reason I can't wrap my head around an aluminum cover that flexes.

Most will call it more premium. I however prefer plastic in any capacity. Weather it is a polycarbonate smooth back or a brushed metal look and what the S5 has now. I think the back of the Note 3 is awesome.

I do NOT like Aluminum backs and dont consider it more premium.
I consider it a flawed design that makes the phone slippery that I drop way more often.....and i mean wayyyy more often than i do with the plastic backs,.... and aluminum dents. Looks like crap when it gets scrathed or dented and the aluminum back imo forsces you to put a case on it for those reasons. It forces me to anyways.

Oh and the Gold color on a phone........AWFUL! Reminds me of ugly gold colored cars that usually old people buy.
