No its a small price to pay for a piece of mind, you also get a reliable VPN , app locks , ram boosters with the package. I said it a while ago my s7edge was infected with extremely annoying virus that kept directing me to play store and other websites. My phone camera was also hacked. Now after the free trial i was impressed and went pro.

Oh yes but they are not all anti virus, some are deep cleaners residual and other rubbish busters which can helps the phone run very smooth.

Still not updated my Note 10 since new. I like it the way it is.

It's a bit strange that Samsung include McAfee as standard isn't it?

I have it in the Device Care settings under Security.

I have no idea what kind of an antivirus app it is but it says "Powered by McAfee" on the screen.
That security tab only exists on unlocked phones and this goes back as far as the S7.

I have two Note 10+ phones, one is on T-Mobile, the other was bought from Xfinity that I got unlocked online. I flashed the unlocked firmware onto that phone and it has the security tab and the T-Mobile model doesn't. I am sing both phones on T-Mobile.

The carriers either remove that security tab or as I said, it's only included on the unlocked firmware.

Deep cleaners, especially for any mobile OS, is almost completely nonsense.

And "RAM boosters" are absolute nonsense.

He doesn't want to listen. He likes to see visual "proof" that he has wiped all the bad stuff away and is running smooth. I fell for this crap when I was new to this stuff. But to think it has any real benefit is surprising. No wonder so many anti virus software options are available

To each their own, but they're not doing anything to improve performance and are very likely hurting it or at worst are adware. He's better off just restarting his phone twice a week.

Yes, this Google app, Find My Device works perfectly with any device. I use it (normally) to find any of my tablets or phones around the house. Works with a laptop as well. Just get the device to ring out. It confirmed that I had left my tablet in the gym when I had left it on a crosstrainer once. And devices can be remotely locked, erased etc .

As for "Find My Friends" , Google Maps has this capabilty. Can be set up indefinately or a limited time.

There are also apps on the Playstore that will work cross-platform or with non-smart phones.

Thanks. Seriously looking into getting an import for £300 less than rrp over here.
I've done it and it's been great. I'm getting around 6-8 hours of SoT on my Snapdragon Note 10 Plus compare to 3.5-4.5 on my Exynos S10 plus. The phone also ran cooler, especially on cellular data.
