Smart thing to do if the tech is not flagship consumer worthy yet. I remember the hell users gave Samsung for the finger sensor on the Note 4, which you had to slide your finger and it barely worked half the time. Samsung wants to avoid a similar situation.

yay Note 9! I am loving Note 8 but yes never too early to talk about the next one. I will probably keep the Note 8 for a long time and skipping the 9 because of incremental update.

You know what it is okay because we get a better product in the end. I think Samsung is trying to have quality product just like Apple and want to get it to us fans in a more polished and not so beta stage.

I hope they make more of an effort with the software and not just the hardware this time. The S Pen is awesome but it could be so much more useful. I'd love for example a one-tap option to convert everything written on a lock screen note to machine text.

I'd also love an even bigger screen... But I guess there are too many who are afraid of their pockets bursting :p

I can't believe the fingerprint sensor under the screen still hasn't been figured out, it's been rumored for years now.

i know right? Maybe they are having issues getting it to work with screen protectors? Or speed and integration with certain apps. Not sure tbh but...lets get this done Samsung.......

Note 9 isn't meant to be an upgrade for Note 8 owners because it will have a better camera, faster processor, and maybe 2 additional GBs of RAM. None of that is worth the near $1000 USD asking price Samsung will have.

C'mon now... you really believe it "hasn't been figured out" yet? These companies are milking features as much as they can.

Let's take the Galaxy S8 for example, you really believe a company like Samsung is dumb enough to not see the fingerprint sensor location is wrong and will annoy people?

And next year they "fix" the problem and put it in the "correct" place and get praised for it. They could have just easily did that in the first place with the S8, instead they played dumb and made a ton of money on the S8 and now will do the same with the S9... I don't blame them for doing that, it makes sense for them business wise but as a consumer I feel tricked a bit.

They're doing the same with the fingerprint under the screen thing... I'm willing to bet they have it figured out already, but instead of just adding it as a bonus feature to the S9, it will be presented to us in the "revolutionary" re-designed S10... and we'll have to pay $1,000 for it. :)

Never too early to discuss the Note 9! :)
Never ever too early :D

Here's what I hope the Note9 has:
- Larger battery, at least 3450mAh
- Slightly larger display with Bezels being smaller (6.35-6.4inch)
- I'd love for it to haven't the Under Screen Fingerprint Reader
- I am hoping for 8GB RAM, to further separate Note from the S+ models.

What maybe obvious:
- Stereo speakers like S9 (don't k ow why people wanted these so badly, but they are now there)
- Variable Mechanical Aperture - Cannot wait to have this on a Note :D brilliant feature
- 128GB Internal Memory like S9+, this is fantastic along with MicroSD support. :)

I really miss the Note 5 form, with the flatter/wider screen! Really like to see Sammy widen the screen a bit (wishful thinking )

Other than that, a 4000 mAH would be great! I have to charge my Note 8 atleast twice a day (yeah, it gets used ALOT ) so now it just sits on the wireless charger when it’s idle..

That’s just my wish list..for now!

Ha, 128 GB internal memory. Something that can be done and is done for everyone but US customers and possibly some others. If they bring 128 GB internal memory to the Note 9 again it would not shock me to see the US get only 64 GB again. It’s such an annoying regional difference because it makes no sense, just like the regional differences that saw U.K. customers get minimal specs on the LG G6. At least with the trade in of my old out of warranty S7 Edge I’ll get the S9+ for a little over $625.

For me the Note 8 is now in that no-man’s land of being too big for me to want it as a phone but not quite big enough for me to want it as a phablet. I’m hoping for a foldable this year. I’m probably not going to get it because of first generation pains, but I’ll be watching like a hawk for it. I know Android tablets are facing their imminent extinction, or so I’ve read, but I think Samsung will find a way to make the foldable what I want and need it to be.

Underscreen fingerprint scanner will be a Note 10/S10 feature. I think it's safe to say the 10th anniversary will be the time for a form factor change and new features.

Maybe not for most people but I upgrade on a yearly basis, so if it ticks the right boxes, I'll pre-ordering.
If it has a notch, forget about it.

I'm still in love with the note 8. This is my favorite phone. After finding a great rose gold /pink cover and rose gold front tempered glass, I love it so much. It's a beast. So, I'm not ready to upgrade.

When I was on the iPhone, I always upgraded every year but since the resell value on Android is less, it prevents me to want to upgrade as much. Maybe this is a good thing. Haha.

basically you know all the new S9 features will be in the note 9. More ram maybe. maybe they increase the size a little.

Hope they go back to offering power user features only and stop with the gimmicks like Animoji.

Been a Note customer since the 2 but they need to offer Windows 10 DeX or no buy.
