It will be coming to AT&T very soon. It is big but for those who want a LARGE screen and do not carry their phone in their pocket, it will be a hot seller.

Even my Galaxy S2 makes my 4S screen look tiny!

yes, i know iphone's got a simple minimized look but changing shape of home button and location of couple sensors, it's pretty much the same, but the feel is totally diff..just front look i'm talking about

It is the BIG DADDY of cell phones. Or the MINI-ME of tablets that can make voice calls and text. Take your pick.

I have always liked the GALAXY NOTE when it was first announced last Fall. I am glad it is arriving in the U.S.A. We have it here in Manila and you can get it FREE with a 2-yr DATA ONLY contract that is roughly $50 per month. Many ads for it. Only reason why I don't want it is because I currently own like FIVE phones as a MyPhone TV (Pinoy) phone was added to my collection last week. Too many that having a Note would be just overkill. Might as well get a tablet with a bigger screen like the BlackBerry PlayBook. Since I am not the biggest fan of Android, I might as well try out QNX which I never owned before.

But I am still "drawn" to the Note's stylus and big screen. I think it would be fun just to doodle and sketch on it. Something a little different in a sea of sameness from all the slate designed touchscreen phones out there.

If I get ANY other phone than an iPhone... the Galaxy Note is what I am getting.

I am still blown away by the fact that right out of the box you can simply plug in a USB mouse (no software needed!) and a wireless Bluetooth keyboard to have a full laptop experience

Doesn't hurt either the fact that it has a 2500mAh (!!!) battery that is user replaceable or the future proof ability of already having LTE when ATT finally rolls it out.

Amazon Wireless routinely cut Android phone prices HARD (see the ATT Skyrocket was free on contract less than a month after release w/ the regular retail price being $249). So as soon as they do they same with the Note I am pouncing on it

Despite Steve Jobs' silly comments about god having given humans 10 styluses.... a stylus is better suited for some operations... like writing or drawing (to my knowledge, Monet did not finger paint any of his masterpieces )

The huge question is whether the digitizer on the Galaxy Note is accurate enough and/or fast enough. Even the market leader in tablet stylus hardware (Wacom) puts out some products which are less than useful in this category.

Humans have had thousands of years to perfect paper and pencils, so there's a pretty high usability bar for an electronic device to exceed.

This is big. As many (look through the iPad section) iPad users want a good solution to be able to us a stylus for note taking. You can obviously use a stylus but it's just not that good at taking notes. Like using a crayon.

Personally I don't have a need for that but I could see a use for it in the business world of never ending meetings. Maybe even college students that don't want a phone AND laptop/tablet.

Someone mentioned if it could function as a tablet. I don't see a reason it can't. Pretty much all android apps work on both tablet and phone. If it gets ics then it should be perfect at being both, assuming its size isn't an issue for you.

It's not the fact that it has a pen.
It's the fact that it has a Wacom digitizer in the screen and the pen is pressure sensitive with very fine precision tracking.
Show me one phone on the market, past or present that had that feature.
That "pen" you choose to dismiss has a lot packed into it. It's not like those crappy capacitive pens they make for the iPad.

I've played with an EU version and it's really not as unwieldy as you think.
Does take getting used to though.

The point of a cell phone is to be portable enough to take everywhere you go.

And no I don't want to carry a backpack or a large sack just so I can carry my phone everywhere.

I'm sure some people will go for it, but I gotta agree with a lot of reviews I've seen, this really is for a niche market.

And honestly, I don't want to go back to the days where cellphones were these huge bricks.

I had the Skyrocket and just went to the 4S. Battery life on the Skyrocket blew. Turn on and use LTE and it was so bad a car charger couldn't keep up with Navigation on. Having a 2500mah won't necessarily fix it as the display size usually is the biggest impact.

Now I do have a Mophie Juice Plus on my phone and will kill that battery in a day and start in on the 4S battery. Hopefully Apple does increase the screen on iPhone 5, and this won't mean much. Hell the Droid Razr Maxx just came out with a 3200mah battery on a 4.3" screen.

You can still use a stylus on an iPhone, just because it didn't come with one doesn't mean you can't use it.

it's going to get to a point where these android phones aren't going to fit in your pocket..... Why would I want to use that monstrosity as a phone? that thing is borderline tablet.
