For me, it's the best by a long way vs Samsung and iPhone.
These tests don't show pictures that you take every day really. They don't have the kids or pets running around or the moments you capture in an instant. That's where the Pixel is the best and always has been.

But take pictures of a street, a person stood still, a building, a night time ally way - it's anyone's game.
They still took a fair few of themselves and their kids and note still came out on top

Pixel is a great camera don't get me wrong but I do feel its overrated at times. Its one of those that for point and shoot sure but as a complete camera in all areas its not a camera I would want to depend on for a variety of different shots. With no ultra wide, no zoom and limited video it wouldn't be my choice as the best but the best is always down to the user

Would rather carry an iPhone, note or a p40 Pro in my pocket over a pixel for a complete camera experience

Agree with this sentiment. I find my Pixels to be very reliable at point and click standard stills. Portrait mode is pretty good too as well as night mode. But it lacks versatility and really trails the competition at video, something I actually use my phone for a lot. I'd be curious so do a side-by-side between a Note 20 Ultra and the coming iPhone 12 Pro but my credit card (and wife) wouldn't be too happy with that scenario. ?

Don't think you can say that without owning a Pixel personally. Which, I don't think you ever have?

Can this 96hz option work with full qhd resolution? Sigh I wanted this phone so bad but not having qhd at 120 Hz is a instant turn off. if this 96hz trick works il buy immediately ?

It does not work with QHD I am afraid. Like 120hz it is limited to Full HD+ screen resolution.

According to SamMobile, Samsung is reportedly working to offer a 120hz refresh rate to QHD via firmware update. But this was rumored as far back as February, so wait and see. It may be something that was ultimately scrapped.

My dad has a pixel 4 and my wife had a pixel 3 i think it was. So i have used them as fair bit but i don’t think you need to have the phone to base how good a camera is based on the amount of camera comparisons there are around.

You also don’t need the phone to know it’s missing an ultra wide camera which for me is a big part of taking photos. Better zoom is also a big part going forward with taking photos with the periscope technology. Does seem obvious google may not go this route and apple should though within the next few years. The quality you can get with 5-10x and even 20x is very good and i think a must in any top camera.

That’s not to take away from the pixel as point and shoot it’s got to be seen as the best or one of the best for a quick shot but i feel there’s more to a camera than just a few areas.

My "Free" buds live have just arrived unexpectedly.

That was much quicker than my previous S10 freebie offer. Less than a week this time around.

Not even sure if I want to keep them... Before I open them up, does anyone know how well these work with iOS devices? If it's hit and miss I might just sell them on.

Audio quality is as good as it was on the Pixel 4 XL I also tried them with. The only downside I experienced was reliably connecting to the Galaxy Buds app to control their features, change EQ settings, etc. The app appears to rely on a BT LE connection and mine often wouldn’t reestablish that, so even though the Buds would be connected to my iPhone and working fine, the Galaxy Buds app wouldn’t see them.

Thanks. Might keep them then. If only for a backup.

Yes, there is an iOS app specifically for them, I believe. My wife just got a pair for her Galaxy S9, and I have to say they are terrific. We both hate earbuds that are in-ear-canal, but there is such a lack of good "open" earbuds. As Airpod alternatives, these are perfect.

I played around with the Galaxy Buds Live today on my iPhone just to see how they did with that. As @Carnacki mentions, there is an IOS app for Galaxy Buds and it found the buds with no problem and immediately ran an update. So all of that works fine. The sound was good, with no weirdness, dropouts, or connection issues.

This guys video was to blame for me choosing them with my promo credits :)

Could anyone who has been using Note 20 Ultra this past week comment in depth on its cameras and image quality? I love my Note 10+ but am tempted to upgrade to 20 Ultra bc of good Samsung trade-in program and new features. Also considering waiting to see 12 Pro Max features before making final decision as I think iPhone generally does better job with image processing. Just not sure it's enough of a difference to compensate for plethora of other features that Note offers and Pro Max does not. Anyway I would love to hear thoughts from those who have been using the phone.
I think the photo quality is great! I prefer it over iPhone... I never liked the photo quality on my 11 pro max to be honest always found myself processing now the Ultra does most of that... and most importantly I LOVE how the ultra fits in my hand and its lighter!!!!

I've managed to get used to the buds. I was clearly putting them in wrong as sound is really good now

Think just took a little while to get used to them
I've used them a fair bit this afternoon. Even watched a video on the correct way to put them in as I was conscious the sound quality wouldn't be up to much if I got it wrong.

So far I'm quite impressed. Looking forward to seeing what the noise cancelling is like on a plane (if I can ever get on one again anytime soon).

I checked out the Ultra today for about 20 minutes. It’s the first Samsung device that I’ve ever tried that did not stutter, lag, or have any odd screen glitches. The phone was buttery smooth the entire time. I was very impressed. And that screen is gorgeous. I have a little over a year left with my XS contract. When it’s time to upgrade, it will be between the Ultra (which should be a lot cheaper by then) or an iPhone.

I would rate the Pixel 4 XL camera over the Note 20 Ultra all day long. I know the pictures will come out nice crisp and have accurate colors. Then if the subject is moving...the Note 20 is a hit and miss with mostly miss.
I posted pictures here on MR of a dragon fly on a bush. It wasn't moving it was just sitting there. 3 of the 4 pics i took were blurry. For no reason.

The one thing the N20U has I wish my P4XL had is that awesome zoom!
But for me...i won't keep the N20U. I need the camera to be more dependable than hit and miss.
It is a great phone for sure and the S-Pen is unmatched in the smartphone space.

Once you’ve been ‘Pixel’d’ it’s hard to want any other camera. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve used a Huawei P30 Pro extensively and loved the versatility of that camera. For zoom it was unmatched at the time. But it only came into play when I went to the zoo ?.
For the everyday photo the Pixel is still on top IMO.

Not sure when the new one is out. Probably tomorrow in America and 2025 in UK. Haha #bitter.
And they do work good as a smartphone, yes. But the battery is always bad with Pixels unfortunately. XL not too bad but regular generally not ok.
The 3a / 4a generally had good battery though I hear.

I was very pleased with the battery life on the Pixel 4XL. It wasn't quite iPhone 11 battery. Nothing can match that (at least of the phones I'd consider), but it was pretty good.
