The LK screen protector looks better today. I think using the squeegee on the line in the middle and some more use made it go away. It definitely changes the feel of the screen to more plasticy buy I much prefer this over permanent scratches on the screen.

Well, I did something that probably no one in this thread will agree with!😛

I returned my S21 and bought a new S20 for more money. (LOL?!) I already had a Spigen S20 case because I had planned on ordering an S20 in November, but I ended up waiting for the S21.

After having the S21, I decided that I actually prefer the slimmer S20 with a curved screen. (And after my S8 I swore I would never purchase another device with a curved screen! :D) The S20 feels more like my S8, which I loved the size and feel of in hand. I just hope that I don't have the accidental touches that bothered me with the S8.

Also, I prefer the extra sharpness of the S20 over the higher refresh rate. Hopefully the smaller device will have both high PPI and high refresh rate in the future.

I also think I'm just going to hold on to my iPhone X so that I still have an iOS device to play around with.

Wow... That's definitely a strange reason to downgrade, in my opinion. But if it works for you, that's what's important.

Love the fact that I can now change the notification vibration. Was never a fan of the Samsung notification double vibration.

Well that's disappointing. Waiting for the next one....again.

Another less positive aspect of organic displays is the so-called OLED flicker, which the S21 Ultra is not devoid of either. Samsung decided to forego a DC dimming mode. In minimum brightness the display dropped to just 120 Hz, which is very low but at least constant. With increased brightness the PWM frequency varied between 227 and 250 Hz with a constant 240 Hz at maximum brightness.

I have the S21 Plus and the way it feels in hand is definitely wider than the S20 plus I turned in. I think the curved screen actually makes it feel better in the hand. Should have held onto the S20.

how is the battery life on the S21?
i was leaning towards the plus because i tend to struggle with carrying about huge phones although the ultra has been very attractive

also does the "glastic" material show or bother you like some say?
i could consider the galaxy regular given your recommendations. white colour is eye-catching with the camera array

I'm in the UK, so the Exynos CPU galore here. Even then I feel the smaller S21 is showing better battery life than the S20 Plus.

I wanted to get a smaller phone so the S21 was the choice over the S21 Plus / S21 Ultra for me.

The glastic back doesn't look bad at all. There is a plastic feel but not in a cheap way. I'm using a case anyway so non issue.

I definitely feel an upgrade over last years S20 Plus.

Take these back to the iPhone forums with you...

Yeah I was gonna say one reason I did let go of my 11 Pro was recurrent extreme overheating. No rhyme or reason to it. My red iPhone 12 that I had very briefly also did the same and I returned it. So far, so good, with my 12 pro Max and 12 mini.

I never know what causes these things to happen. My HTC 10 that I love dearly and still own but recently “decommissioned” was also prone to overheating for no apparent reason. My 11 Pro got hot enough to burn my skin.

It can be a luck of the draw thing sometimes. And if there is some sort of massive issue, due to what happened with the Note 7, I am sure Samsung will address this particular problem as fast as they can. They probably shouldn’t have overclocked the Exynos.

I am having lag and stutters and freezes on my 12 Pro Max. One day I missed the ultimate cute cat photo because I tried to bring up my 12 Pro Max camera using the icon on the unlock screen and the camera came up but was just black for a full minute before it woke up and turned on. I was not happy. Fortunately this isn’t a common thing and I don’t blame the phone. I think iOS has some bugs that need stomping.

But the point is, we can pick sides and point and laugh all we like and it doesn’t prove anything. Some people are having issues with whatever phone they own. I don’t think it’s funny at all. It’s stressful and unfortunate and I feel bad for anyone who paid good money and got bad problems. I hope their problems are solved to their satisfaction.

Oh I totally agree with your choice. If not for my issues with the finger print scanner, which most people don’t seem to have, I probably would have stayed with my adorable pink S20. The S21 wasn’t going to tempt me away. The Ultra is really different and even so, who knows how I will feel when I actually get it. I hope you enjoy your S20.

Well, second day in, 7 hours on screen with 22% left, 120hz, WQHD+.

.Best battery life I've had, no overheating (exynos 2100), great camera, exceptional screen.

That's me highly satisfied.

Please Samsung, do the Note again.

But make it next year please 🤣

I decided to keep the Sony WH-LMNOP78910RJHEYH4's, they're very nice headphones.

Edit: 8 hours, 29 minutes, 5% left!

no overheating

Good news.

Never seen a phone with such wide media coverage.

Yep, I'm now glad that I didn't take a lucrative pre-order deal. Spared myself from having to deal with returns. It seems like around 350 Hz is the lower limit where I start tolerating PWM to some extent and this one is too far away from that.

No idea what I'm doing wrong as I'm nowhere near that with my exynos model.

I'm having trouble transferring my messages, notes and calendars from my iPhone 12PM using Smart Switch.

Smart Switch crashes on "arranging data". I've tried launching the app again but nothing. The data appears in the phones memory.

I'm not a fan of using 3rd party apps due to privacy concerns.

Also, if I export WhatsApp chats via email from my iPhone, how do I import back into WhatsApp on my S21U?

Thanks.

I had some issues as well. I just decided to start fresh with my texts messages also you cannot transfer whatsapp content from IPhone to android because iPhone backups are saved to iCloud and Android backups are saved to google drive

I tried some things yesterday to see if it would help ease the headaches/dizziness I was getting from this phone. One thing that seemed to help was switching the display from Vivid to Natural. Not sure if it's a placebo or what but it seemed I may have some just been burning my retinas with the vivid display. I do really prefer the way the vivid looks but if this is what it takes, then I'm willing to stick to natural. So perhaps in my case it wasn't the PWM after all but time will tell.

I’ve never been able to get smart switch to work. Everytime I’ve used it I’ve gotten an error message. I guess for notes you could transfer them to google keep.

I don’t think there is a way to transfer WhatsApp messages between android and iOS. Calendars can use use google calendar?

Did anyone pre-order the brown colour of the Ultra? I’m yet to see anyone with it or even hear anyone say that they have pre-ordered one.

Lol...well. Originally had a glitch so ordered black, the only option at the time. Then found out a day later I could order brown, which was my first choice at the time. Ordered brown 256 GB. Changed my mind about accessories. Canceled and this time said what the heck, ordered brown 512 GB. Found a mistake in my order and ordered it again. Found out possibly could not return a custom color (not true for America) and this last time, ordered black, but had decided I preferred black slightly anyway. So...yeah I sort of did. Except when I didn’t. It’s the thought that counts? 🤣

I'm gonna sound like a broken record here, but this is the best phone I've ever used. I'm struggling to find faults with it. The size was incredibly easy to get used to and feels much smaller than the S20 Ultra and 12 Pro Max. Everything running lightning fast and I've actually stuck with the stock launcher for a while now that they provided the option to have the Google feed in the left window (good job Samsung).

Battery life is all day no matter what I throw at it. Fingerprint sensor is much better than the old qualcomm version. No overheating. Camera and video are much improved over last year. Honestly, no complaints.
