I'm gonna sound like a broken record here, but this is the best phone I've ever used. I'm struggling to find faults with it. The size was incredibly easy to get used to and feels much smaller than the S20 Ultra and 12 Pro Max. Everything running lightning fast and I've actually stuck with the stock launcher for a while now that they provided the option to have the Google feed in the left window (good job Samsung).

Battery life is all day no matter what I throw at it. Fingerprint sensor is much better than the old qualcomm version. No overheating. Camera and video are much improved over last year. Honestly, no complaints.
Agreed. I had a moment of weakness and was missing iPhone, but pulled myself back because I like using this phone so much. Stupid Apple ecosystem crack addiction. But I think we're good now!

Smart move. I have written off going back to the iPhone at some point. I appreciate the OS and there are parts of it I love. But using an iphone next to this phone just makes the iPhone feel dated in just about every aspect.

Are you using an Exynos version? Sounds like a promising device.

Agreed. It really is better in almost every way. Years and years of the Apple ecosystem did that to me buy I'm a month away from the ecosystem and I think my moments where I miss Apple week become fewer and further between.

Well, second day in, 7 hours on screen with 22% left, 120hz, WQHD+.
<snip>
Running in WQHD+ is important if you want accurate Gamma on the display. Just as with my Note9, if I turned down the resolution from what its native resolution is Gamma goes from 2.2 (which it is supposed to be) to 1.2 which results in a brighter, somewhat washed-out look. This is using the Display Tester app.

Really wish it was that easy for me

No doubt the s21 ultra hardware is great as it ticks pretty much all boxes but the ecosystem really is unmatched and of course the Apple Watch makes it impossible to switch for me. Software is basically the deal breaker. Social media, apps, time of notifications arriving on time is why really

Not ruling out picking the S21 ultra up though it’s tempting but not as my daily. Had it in my basket for a while

Mine (S21+) had a dead pixel at the top center of the screen, sent it back to Samsung earlier today. Love the phone. Fingerprint scanner is much improved but still gave me errors after setting up 3 prints of my same finger. :( I forgot how much I like Samsung's internet browser. Love the ad blockers it makes such a big difference.

On the fence about re-ordering. The latest news about iOS 14.5 unlocking while paired with Watch if you're using a mask has me excited.

The Apple Software became less and less of a dealbreaker for me mostly because the stability of iOS has really taken a dive in the last few years. I get it with the Watch, but honestly, I've been using the Watch Active 2 for about 3 weeks now and I really don't see much of a difference between this watch and the Apple Watch.

I think it depends how you use it I guess. I depend on a lot of notifications and the Apple Watch gives me this will no issues in real time while that isn’t the case with galaxy watches. Even with my fold I don’t get instant notifications. to be my daily it all needs to arrive when it’s suppose to.which is what I meant by the software set of things plus the other devices such as iPad, mac, apple tv, air pods, HomePods e.tc. to be my daily it all needs to arrive when it’s suppose to.

most apps are perfectly good on android but the odd few aren’t. Do feel social media apps aren’t as good. My most used apps are Apollo and twitter both much better on iOS well Apollo isn’t available on android so that is a main issue.

so those reasons is why it’s better for me in the important areas but feature wise the ultra really is unmatched. Zoom they are the best for sure and those micro shots for close up shots look incredible

I see a lot of Apple people talking about how much of a genius addition that is. They don't realize android has had that feature for years.

I'm not talking about you. Just saying in general.

Well it’s only a big deal because during the pandemic most iPhones people have don’t have Touch ID. I’m sure will be less of a big deal for this years iPhones if it comes with Touch ID but not everybody will upgrade just for that

Never knew android could do it though but guess not enough have android watches at a guess to know or don’t need to know given most android phones have finger print scanners

Android has smart lock. You can have your phone unlock based on location or based on if a certain bluetooth device is connected. So watches, headphones, vehicles, etc.

It is funny to watch how some Apple fans acts when a new feature is introduced on IOS that Android has had for years.

They pronounce the greatness of the new feature and Apple acts like they invented some great new thing.....

Then Android users remnds them this has existed for years....

I mean I have an AW6 and a PM 12 so this will be a very nice thing to have.

Still no info on the S21 here in Indonesia. No pre-orders, no pricing, nothing. Samsung Indonesia is still pushing the S20FE, and only offers the S21+ and Ultra (highly marked up). Really annoyed and suspicious. Worse, my A71 is still only on October 2020 security patch.

I like Samsung and the phones, but these behaviors starting to annoy me. Add on that I'm in exynos country. So far, seeing online contents, Exynos 2100 is a definite improvement over Exynos 990, but whether it's worth the premium vs SD888 is still questionable.

Worst come to worst, I might just downgrade to a cheaper Poco or something and just buy newer phones more often.

You might want to be a bit patient.

Sales and marketing and availability in many territories according to set priorities are still unfolding.

Still very early days.

Add the pandemic restrictions then you have added delays.

OneUI is great because it's both simple enough to use but it also, once you get the hang of how you want it organized, it "just works" so much better than the iOS homescreen. Especially after they botched the App Library on iOS 14.
