Question. Does anyone else have random issues with texts? I'm on T-Mobile so maybe it's them, but throughout owning this phone I've had multiple issues where people have texted me and I just flat out haven't received it. Last night, my wife sent me 2 texts, in the same room. Didn't get it. But then got it the next night.

Is this an Android thing? Perhaps does my specific phone have an issue? T-Mobile claims no issues on their end.
I think it’s an RCS thing. I’ve had it happen on both AT&T and TMO.

Never had any issues with SMS on any Android phone. Sorry I can't help with your problem.

Thanks. Yeah, it's been a pretty constant issue throughout owning this phone but it's very intermittent. But it really sucks when I miss an important message. I've also had calls go straight to voicemail without my phone ever ringing. Done all the troubleshooting steps and I'm not really willing to send my phone into Samsung and get it back 25 days later.

Yeah and I've had other people say that too, so I've been trying to determine if it's just this phone, not even the whole S23 Series, like did I get a lemon (at least with things like calls/texts).

Maybe reset network connections and also remove the SIM reboot and reinsert.. I'm on T-Mobile no issues with missing any calls or messages

Ah gotcha ...ughh ...did you have ongoing messages that maybe can be deleted and start new ? Frustrating when you have issues like this to pin point...
Oh I hear you. It's multiple people and I don't really want to delete full threads just because I have things saved in there that I'd like to go back to.

Perhaps the answer is that I just turn off RCS.
Happened to my friend on her s21 ultra on at&t. She switched to the Samsung messages app from the Google messages app for the whole year until thiss month. Seems to be working now for her.

I have had random dropped texts at times from multiple carriers and phones regardless if it is iOS or Android.

However, I personally think it has to do with Apple and your phone number still being registered with Apple? My ex wife has an iPhone. When I first switched to Android she wasn't getting some of my texts and vice versa. Very random. I deregistered my phone number from Apple website after a week or so and still had these issues. After de registering again it seemed to work. Maybe call Apple just to make sure your number isn't linked to text.

Has this issue put through idea of an iPhone back at front of your mind?
It's definitely gotten me intrigued by other devices, but I'd say I'm a bit more intrigued by the Galaxy Z Fold5 and the Google Pixel 8 Pro. My biggest worry is if this is an Android issue in general. If it is, then yeah I would most likely return to Apple even if I can't stand iOS in current state.

@Technerd108 - I actually did explore the iMessage possibility a few months ago and we're all clear there. I'm also not ruling out that I just have a lemon. The phone I have right now is actually an insurance replacement because I dropped and dinged up my original device, and it seems like the problem started when I got the replacement. I have talked to Samsung and they won't replace it due to the issue, but I'd have to send it in for a repair which I'm not interested in doing. It is intermittent enough where it's not HORRIBLE, but it is probably once ever 1-2 weeks where I miss a text or a call.

I do like how the iPhone now you could take a pic of a person or animal and it just automatically later on as portrait mode...

Yea that is pretty cool, I’m impressed with the night pictures tho and the zoom seems to be good too, just not on par with the Samsung in some zoom areas.

You can on both Google and Samsung as well. But yeah good to see Apple adopting this as well.
Yep in Google Photos you can go and add background blur to almost any photo regardless of what device it was taken on. But like you said, nice to see Apple add this capability natively.
