🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Preorder entered.
Had to give my 14 Pro Max to my wife. Her phone went for a swim in the lake last night. It’s still down there. My good buddy is a diver so he’s going to go down and look for it today. It’s in about 10-12 foot of water. She does have Apple care but not with theft or loss option. If he recovers it I’ll cancel the order. If not I’ll have a 15 PM 😂
A friend of mine lost their iPhone in the river and it was found a few days later and still worked

Well, if he retrieves it it has not been lost or stolen so those options on Apple Care do not apply anyway.

Yep phones these days are pretty durable. I found a friends S22 Ultra the weekend after they drunkenly dropped it off my boat while were in about 4 feet of water hanging out. Hopefully we will find my wife’s and I can cancel my order.

Do iPhones come with pre-loaded apps or do they allow everything to be Google? Remind me...

hehe usual passive aggressive snarky reply there. I think where you continue to go wrong is by assuming everything for everyone is an apple v samsung war. It isn't! I like and dislike different bits on each and call it as I see it.

So your "well apple do it as well" doesn't prevent me calling out what I believe to be a daft decision on Samsung's part.

You often remind us all how much more open to options Samsung/android are and I'm here agreeing with you, but you can't trumpet their openness and then ignore it when they "do an apple" and force us to use one default app.

Apple get a free ride for forcing you to use their apps and not being able to uninstall those apps whereas Samsung get slated for doing (less of) the same. I'm just pointing that out. Don't like Samsung's "duplicate apps"? Nobody has to use them.

I use their browser and gallery apps but mainly go elsewhere when it comes to the others. At least we can disable and/or remove the apps from the homescreen. It's as if they never existed.

And again it is so depressive i can nit switch, samsung is awesome ragarding sales promotions. Just now i ordered samsung s9 ultra 512 wifi with keyboard cover, it costs around 1600 eur here, it will cost me 370 eur!! Such a low price for top notch samsung tablet, I am impressed. All i needed was one old shattered iphone 11.

This is my only phone ATM so not sure whether to try it out

Anybody know if it will be an issue with my galaxy watch 6?

You actually can't sign up for it anymore. They have a maximum amount of beta testers. 😞

Hey guys.
So after having S23U for like 2 months only now I have been able to properly take it outside and try shooting some photos with it, and I am not really satisfied, or I am doing something wrong.
So I want to ask y'all how do you shoot your photos? Should I use 50mpx, or 12mpx? Don't see much difference there. The colors always seem kinda washed up and since coming from iphone I find shooting in raw quite complicated. Gotta say 10x is really nice.

They opened up the beta last night and I just installed it. Subtle changes but pretty cool. Love that the default quick setting icons are white. I'm not really sure what other cool changes there are so I'll have to check it out.

So depending on what I'm trying to accomplish, for photos that I really want to edit, I use the 200mp and then edit in Mobile Lightroom. It has a ton of cool presets. 200mp isn't required though. You can do regular 12mp or Expert Raw. It might take a bit to find your comfort zone but the camera is definitely versatile!

Exactly. That's what I was saying, if he retrieves it, the Apple Care would still get her phone fixed or replaced. Unfortunately he did not find her phone. Going to look again next weekend.

Yeah, OneUI 6.0 is not a major overhaul of Android other than the Quick Panel layout... everything else is minor changes.

I’m curious… what changes are you looking to see in future OneUI versions?

I'd say these would be top on my list:

- The ability to make Google Photos the default photos app.

- Native Weather on Lockscreen instead of a widget, much like Google Pixels have it. Apple's implementation is really good too.

- Icon theming for all apps instead of native ones. I believe this might be dependent on app developers though.

Yeah, I don’t see Samsung ever relinquishing their Gallery app in favor of Google Photos… it’s one of those aspects that I don’t see ever changing.

But I do like the idea of native weather on the Lockscreen.. I was really hoping that Samsung would have added more functionality to the LockScreen. Along with AlwaysOnDisplay.. it’s been that way for years, I know we have GoodLock to make tweaks to it.

The Standby Mode Apple introduced for iOS 17 is awesome… that feature should have been available already for Galaxy devices.

Yeah it does pain me quite a bit that iOS got AOD right on the first try (well 2nd when they allowed users to turn off the wallpaper lol). That and Live Activities. If anything, I missed those features more than iMessage and FaceTime since leaving Apple.

Meh. The less battery-draining features the better. Once they start giving me 15 hours of SOT I might turn this stuff on....

Question. Does anyone else have random issues with texts? I'm on T-Mobile so maybe it's them, but throughout owning this phone I've had multiple issues where people have texted me and I just flat out haven't received it. Last night, my wife sent me 2 texts, in the same room. Didn't get it. But then got it the next night.

Is this an Android thing? Perhaps does my specific phone have an issue? T-Mobile claims no issues on their end.
