I’ve noticed that the iPhone 15 has had a price reduction here in the UK :) Maybe it’s due to inflation falling, whatever the reason it’s good news. The 15 Pro Max is cheaper than the S23 Ultra :D

Inflation may be down but there's still inflation. The currency exchange rate is the primary reason for the UK price decreases this year, and for the price increases last year. The exchange rate (stronger or weaker USD relative to local currencies) have a lot to do with iPhone price changes outside the U.S.

They could lower the 15 Pro Max (13 Pro Max S, S) to $999 for the 1 TB version here in the US and I wouldn't buy. Holding the 14 Pro Max and hoping for more with the 16 series. I still like the 14 Pro Max for when I want to use an iPhone but it's hard to fit it in my rotation with the S23U and Pixel Fold right now.

Absolutely nothing about the 15 series release is exciting to me. I'm really disappointed.
Thinking I'll now go for the S24U since samsung does excellent trade in values. Will probably pass on the Pixel 8 Pro as I am holding onto the Pixel Fold.

Yeah I'm pretty much with you there. I am a bit intrigued by what Google comes out with for the 8 Pro. Stock Android feels like it would be a nice change up but I also really like certain things about OneUI. One thing that stock Android would sell for me is my issue with double apps.

Not when you consider you get a free set of Buds Pro and case, that make the S23U over 200UKP cheaper
Yep, I just compared the S23 Ultra 512 Gb to iPhone 15 Pro Max 512 Gb at time of preorder. S23 is $200 cheaper AND you get $200 in credits to use on accessories. So assuming you buy Buds, you're paying $400 less than you would with Apple assuming you're buying AirPod Pros (you can substitute the accessories here and use cases as an example instead). Add in better trade in deals and even more flexible payment options.

It still works out cheaper than last years 14 Pro Max, at least here in the UK. Samsung usually has some deal on so of course when you factor in a pair of buds or a free Watch that works out cheaper. It all depends on what ecosystem you are in.

Currently in uk, they have an offer of free buds worth £219 and one of the cases, the wallet case is worth £44, if add a 10% discount code ( bluelight or student) off the phone itself, that adds up to a cracking deal at £1259 (that’s also for 512gb)

Spot on! Crazy how the tides have turned. I feel like in past years there were so many more "I'm going back to iPhone, it was great chatting with all of you" posts.
Well it was really quite the shock to hear the rumors about a periscope lens, only to find out it is 5x. I know that knocked the wind out of my sails a little.

Still no Apple Pencil functionality. Not even a mini pencil. They’re not interested in moving in that direction at all. And so I will be keeping my Noteworthy Ultra.

Is there anything like secure folder on an iPhone?

I'm not sure about tides turning in the sense of everyone going out and buying an Android device. I was underwhelmed by the Apple event itself, but I was also underwhelmed by Samsungs August event too.

I do think the S22 and S23 Ultra spoilt me when it comes to the camera zoom, I was expecting Apple to do something just as good.

That being said I shall still Pre-order the iPhone 15 Pro Max, mainly because I want to test out the camera and because I'm a sucker for IOS and all things Apple.

That being said, I do appreciate Samsung more than I use too, I will still be watching Samsung closely and what they do with the S24 Ultra. I just wish they would stop with the Exynos bull, put the Snapdragon in all future phones for everybody (like they did with the S23). There are rumours/leaks that Exynos will be back for the S24 lineup which is very disappointing, but they are only rumours and until Samsung actually announces it I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that they will stick with the Snapdragon worldwide.

How are you getting on with your move from iPhone and Apple? is the S23 Ultra everything you wanted it to be and do you plan on upgrading to the S24 Ultra? I will definitely be watching it.

Have you forgotten the threads on MR of people IPhone pins/password etc being hijacked in public, there is no second level of security on an IPhone like offered with secure folder etc on Samsung devices or dual personal/work profiles that are sandboxed from each other

Yeah you were so underwhelmed you bought an S23 twice and still would like one

As already stated your speculating without any evidence on the capability etc of Exynos.. All indications is its better not worse

Stick to your more expensive nothing burger IP15PM and be happy

The switch away has been rocky and I've had a ton of itches to move back, but that's in no relation to the quality of the S23 Ultra. It's probably the best phone I've ever owned. It has more to do with the fact that I've primarily used the iPhone for 10 years prior (other than brief dabbling in Android). With that said, I now have zero ties to the Apple ecosystem. I am 100% free. My intention is to upgrade to either the S24 Ultra or the Pixel 8 Pro. Big asterisk though is that it's going to be very hard tomorrow morning. I love pre-order day. As underwhelming that the Apple keynote is, I have asked myself a couple times if I should just move back to Apple. I think that's just more addiction talking than anything lol.

Errrm read what I said, I was underwhelmed with the August event not the S23 event!!

The Exynos is trash and everyone knows it! Go on Twitter and see how many people actually say that they want Samsung to stick with Snapdragon.
