That LG is like the old GF she was dependable and a great cook but you are dating a new hot GF which is not perfect but you have to embrace all the new adventures with her and move on ..
That old gf was also crazy and unpredictable. That's why I got rid of her. She was also kinda hot on the back side but the front was kinda blah.

Had that phone a couple weeks. Last LG product I bought. They should stick to refrigerators which they also aren't very good at

Hi everyone. Bad news and good news regarding Samsung USB C cables that comes with phone or with 45W or 65W chargers. All are USB 2.0 at data speed.
The great news is that I've bought a 35 euro Promate 100W power delivery, so it works also to charge your laptop, and USB C 4.0 with 40 Gbps speeds!!! This is just insane, but my laptop supports it. Going to test Monday the S23 Ultra transfer speed.
P.S. I'm really disappointed of Bluetooth sound output of S23 Ultra. Any way to improve it?

Bluetooth output with Spotify via android auto wireless in my truck is just as solid as my iphone14PM or Pixel 7 Pro.

The Samsung provided cable does suck but I have 15 Anker 10 ft braided USB c cables around my house and office that are 100W. I think they are around $11 on Amazon

yep same for me. Tried spotify in car, tidal to a high end system, spotify out in the garden to a sonos and didnt notice any different to the iphone 14pm

what WAS better is being able to say "ok I want the music over bluetooth to that speaker but phone noises/rings/notifications to the phone speaker"..... as much as I love my iphones, it's seriously annoyed me over the years when we have a bbq and everyones chilling to some music only to have the iphone DING over the btooth speaker and ruin the mood. (the "fix" was to get airplay speakers but that reduces the choice and ups the price)

I guess it's that kind of thing that I really respect about Android. Perhaps it doesnt matter to most but it does to me.

yeah.

I do hate that the phones dont come with decent power supplies/cables etc. these days (thanks apple sigh) but it's hard to argue with the rationale given how many times I didn't even remove them from the packing because I still used one from four models ago.

I have been using an iPhone for some years now and completely forgotten how good Samsung and Android was. Just the simple ability of being able to place apps on the screen exactly where my fingers can reach is wonderful and the customisation is so much fun. The screen is just fabulous and the apps are just as good (to my eyes) as on iOS. As everyone can see by my sig, I am heavily invested in the Apple eco system but have no problem transferring everything over to use with Google to keep my files, photos, mail etc working in conjunction with my MBA/iPad etc. Got to admit, the hardware and software are both superb (as one would expect from a device costing as much money as this). This is a beautiful phone.

I am undecided on what to do with my iPhone simply because of my Apple Watches, I may just sell the whole lot and get a Garmin Epic 2, still thinking this through. I may not need a watch for fitness for some time because lately I have become quite ill and have not been able to get to the gym or carry out any fitness, I have a new knee cap and waiting for my other to be replaced and my cancer has returned so, my prime reason for a smart watch is not available to me atm, I'm hoping that changes.

This phone has made up my mind, if the Z fold 5 folds flat, I will be pre ordering it. To be honest, I can't wait.
Keeping you in my thoughts, and I hope you regain full health and will be able to resume a fitness regimen, even if by necessity it's a modified one.

Autoimmune inflammation necessitated I rethink my approach to fitness and I find it rewarding even if the activities and goals are now different. But it's been helpful to my mental health to have even a modest fitness goal and regimen. I actually have several tailored to whatever body I wake up to on a given day.

When I was using Samsung products as well as Fitbit, I actually found their software approaches very friendly to my new capacities and incapacities.

Apple can be a bit intimidating in their advertising and sells itself like it's all for serious hardcore athletes. And so I often found my response to prompts becoming sarcastic, if I didn't ignore them altogether.

On a good day, I still can run very fast around the block, and once in a great while I even can outwalk and out hike people half my age and not even look bothered. But some days I yelp in agony when my feet hit the floor when I first get out of bed and all I can do all day is a slow shuffle.

I never know what body I'm going to wake up to, so I need an approach that is less "hardcore jock" so I don't feel like giving up altogether.

It's been a few years so I can't remember exactly what I found encouraging with the non Apple approach, but I remember embracing it. I felt at the time though the hardware just wasn't quite there for me yet. Fitbit had an annoying charging mechanism. Samsung's Gear Fit bracelet felt like a manacle.

I liked the Samsung watches but I missed Apple Watch Modular face and its complications. There were navigating features I also valued. I do like how it tracks my progress in the pool. It's still too hardcore jock about it but I know how to interpret the readings my way. Lol I do find myself rolling my eyes at a lot of Apple Watch Fitness dialogue.

I don't know what Android now offers but it's probably worth investigating especially if you're now really wanting to use the phones.

But remember, regardless of what you can or can't do on any given day, you're still YOU. We have more complexity and meaning and importance than anything a mere machine can measure.

Ok guys so i just did a speed test:
UFS 4.0 vs UFS 3.0 is 50%faster in RL test.
2.73 GB movie transfered from laptop to S23 Ultra in under 4 seconds , same speed from s23 to laptop. My laptop is latest ryzen 6000 series with 4k 120Hz oled display and 2 Thunderbolt USB C 3.2 at 10Gbps. The cable is LEGIT, S23 Ultra usb port also LEGIT, UFS 4.0 also KING. enjoy your phone. 😁 cant wait to test it via usbc hdmi display port with a 150 GB blue ray movie played by the s23. Unfortunately my old tv doesn't support this cable.

I don't want to start a FIRE in this community but my LG V60 now has my business sim in it and is with me all the time. It smokes night shots, selfie and main camera of s23, but lets see an update. Regarding ultrawide both throws blows , sometimes LG wins, Sometimes S23. Anyways, since LG is out, i was looking for a new device and got this s23 ultra. Last year exinos s22 ultra i also purchased it,but returned after 3 days,it was so jot and poor battery. Anyways, who doesn't believe me, i ca do a comparison test anytime. I'm hoping s23 ultra next update to improve cameras, the main problem i think is too much compression in the JPG files. 2-4 MB for a photo is so low in my opinion. Maybe they want to show the power of Snapdragon 8 gen 2 wich can compression in so less time a JPG to 2 MB.
And an advice to all of you who think S23 U or iPhone14 pro max has great sound and speakers, trust me they are like 50% behing the LG V60. Spekesrs also. Bluetooth outpalso. 3.5 jack is out of the question as the v60 drives my 1600 euro IEMs Campfire Solaris headphones like no other phone ever made. So don't listen to garbage youtubers who say iPhone 14 pro max or s23 ultra has the best speakers. Trust me BOTH sound TRASH!

The Bluetooth streaming indo almost each day in my car which has a custom 8k euro sound system and with the v60 Bluetooth output got almost a HIFi experience, but with s23 ultra the experience was horrible.
I guess I'll have to put my flacs again on a memory stick and play them with the dac from my head unit. But nowadays stram8ng music is encrypted so .... i can't ...

I have had a lot og LG phones over the years. Some nice and some not so nice. but most have had these issues.
1) excessive amount of bloat
2) Random reboots
3) Hard bricks after software updates
4) overheating during normal usage
5) Battery life average at best

nah I think the folks on this thread in particular are brilliant and recognise that everyone has a different opinion :)

so tell me, your LG 60 smokes the s23u in night shots.... what's its longest exposure? I've been using 4min and 10min on the s23U to capture some amazing skyscapes? Would be interested to see the same from the lg?

you have my admiration and respect! I'm TRYING to get there.

I just can't get past the notifications being so much worse (for my use) on android :(

I HAVE been surprised at how good the samsung galaxy 5pro watch is. When I last tried the android watches they weren't good at all but I didn't miss my apple watch at all.
If I had kept the iPhone, Apple Watch, and iPad around, I know I would not give the Samsung my full attention and even the fair chance the Samsung devices deserve. The iOS ecosystem is familiar to us and because it's familiar to us, we like it and prefer it.

Why don't you start your own thread on LG phones? That way you don't have to keep taking this thread off topic?
We understand you love your LG V60....but you might be the only one here. So maybe start your own thread? Lets us discuss the Samsung s23 line up with out off topic LG V60 posts.

does the lg60 have a translator? :)

if you mean you never initiate but just reply.... point me to the post where someone mentioned an lg60 before you? (I haven't checked! maybe you can :)

anyway dude, you have a phone you love and nothing else comes close to it right now. Congrats, I think many of us envy you :)
Man, if someone here comes let's say from oneplus, iPhone or pixel and gets disappointed because it has the older phone and compares with it, and writes here, shares his experience, this makes him what,he needs to start a new thread? I don't understand, i bought the s23 coming from x phone and sharing my experience. So isn't anyone here coming from another brand sharing his experience with the s23 ultra?

yeah quite a few including me from the iphone :) in fact I've been droning on boring people in this thread, and others, about iphone notifications and stuff it does better over and over.

I think the difference may be that I've been open minded and some of the s23u "problems" I've noted, people have disproved, given me workarounds etc where as you're pretty determined so say the lg kills it in every regard.

Look dude, each to their own :) congrats on finding the perfect phone (for you). One day maybe I'll be able to say the same :)

Except it's all subjective ...just like your findings ..you might like those photos best and many here will like Pixel or Samsung or iphone or another brand ..we agree to disagree on many things like you said LG is out so it's good you've had a good run with the phone and still enjoying it ...we are all here for our passion of tech so no fires will be started ...Android has one thing over Apple ...CHOICES !!
We don't need to see comparisons we know what we have and we like ..end of day nobody is going to sway us... especially YouTube vids ..some haven't used the phone for 5 days ...
