I may have missed it but if his device isn't giving you problems, can't y'all just switch devices and maybe put a dbrand skin on if you need to change the color?
Yeah we will switch but right now I've got nothing to trade with. However Amazon just brought back the $100 gift card deal so I've got one in my shopping cart. For some reason the deal disappeared when I looked for it on my main page but I found it looking specifically for deals. Weird.

I'm sure many will call iphone 15 pro max phone of the year if it nails down

pericope zoom up to 6x
3nm chip
better image processing tuning with big sensors
USB C

I think this year needs to be a big year for the iphone given the great improvements we have seen so far with SD gen 2 for example.
Is the iPhone 15 PM going to use SD Gen 2? I thought they were using their own chips?
We finally get USB C but then the rumor is it will be limited to Apple only certified cables
The other rumor is they will go buttonless.... I am not sure the general public is ready for a buttonless iPhone.
I mean have we ever heard anyone say "Man I would love love a buttonless iPhone sometime...." Said no one ever.

I don't see given the current rumors the iPhone 15 being called the phone of the year to be honest.

it's like the apple pencil right? I've kept thinking they'll add support for that each year but nope...

Took out the spen the other evening at a restaurant to jot down a recipe ... took a photo, annotated it with the pen, drew some stuff on it then shared it.... three or four people with iphones said OMG I didnt know you could do that
Ahhh! Why didn't I think of that? Annotating recipes? I can screenshot and annotate recipes. Why did I never think to do this before?

No I mean due to what other SD gen 2 devices have added already or will add apple needs to continue to step up with their own chips.

Not sure buttonless will really changing much in all honestly. It will do the same job current buttons will do so not really something worth mentioning to be fair. I'm sure apple are doing it for a valid reason and market why it's important.

Will see on the power of USB C with apple cables. I take that with a grain of salt to be honest. Apple may limit it but given most companies don't supply the power brick I'm sure people will need to buy their faster ones if it is faster.

Will see I think if apple does add all of this then it will be praised highly certainly if they can get the image processing right. adding a pericope lens is longggg overdue. This is of course a big if though.

I disagree...we have seen this from them in the past. Remember MFi certified lightening cables? Those were the only ones that would work for iphones? So Apple could charge a fee to be certified? You could not just use an lighening cable they had to be MFi certified.

Then for buttonless...why? What issue is Apple trying to solve here? what is the benifit? What feature or enhancement is gained by buttonless? I can't think of one to be honest.

"I'm sure apple are doing it for a valid reason and market why it's important."
But you are right Apple will market it as innovation and most Apple fans will say how aweseome it is even though they can't name a reason why....

I just think Apple has lost its way and doesn't know who they are anymore in regards to iOS. It used to be "It just works". Now it's half baked customization and more bugs than I've ever experienced on an iPhone. Like why do we have all this lock screen customization but still can't do native icon theming or even choose when an icon appears on the screen. App Library is a mess. They should let us have the ability to choose which folders appear on the top as well as have the ability to edit their mistakes. Like Reddit. That should be in the social folder, not "reading and information".

Okay... Lavender 512 GB, $100 Amazon Gift Card...delivering tomorrow! Husband says he will trade me his Lime Green 512 GB phone if I don't get along with the display on the lavender one. My 1TB lavender leaves today. Along with husband's 128 GB Burgundy S22 Ultra.

I'll be setting my new phone up as new and leaving my storage hogging files on my S22 Ultra which will still be used daily on WiFi.

Jony Ive isn't officially there anymore but it seems they're trying to make his vision of a seamless slab of glass come true.

A lumpy seamless slab of glass. I can't believe they haven't tried to do something to make the camera bump less obtrusive. The lens rings are pretty but the lumps on lump look is a bit much and hard to keep clean.

Personally I like buttons. I feel a device used in your hands is meant to be tactile and that's one reason I found the Apple TV remote annoying.

I do like that all the S22 and S23 Ultra buttons are all on one side of the device. It makes it easier to put cases on. It makes handling the phone easier in my opinion.

I think it’s a good thing to a certain degree that Johny Ive isn’t there anymore. I don’t think Apple would have backtracked and released a bigger and heavier MacBook Pro if he was. The new MacBook Pros are the best Mac Apple have released in years.

As somebody who has recently switched from the iPhone to an S23 ultra (maybe just until October), this thread makes me feel better.

This is a great phone but I do feel a little home sick. Hearing all of the positive thoughts even from iPhone users is really nice to see
I had about a half hour worth of "I miss you" with the iPhone yesterday. And then I discovered that I can download Tecmo bowl with current rosters and play it with an emulator.

Imma nerd when it comes to this.

And watching shows like WestWorld with futuristic concepts of buttonless devices... sign me up! As technology advances buttons will be non-existent... and tbh I'm all for it lol.

There are advantages to both, it's why I use both. However after getting my S23 Ultra just the other day, I can say that the gap is narrowing between iPhone and Samsung. Saying that tho, Apple will announce the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro in September, I'm willing to bet that I will end up buying one, I'm that much of a sucker 😂

I will probably do the same which is why I said maybe until October. It'll have to be good though! Samsung have really stepped up their game.

Well I can think of a couple without much effort. Much easier to waterproof a slab of phone with no buttons and potentially at some point, no ports either.

buttons are physical so can break and with background haptics, you can change up the feel of the press to reflect different things potentially useful for all sorts of things.

I dont WANT it to go buttonless! I much prefer the buttons (I'm still getting over the loss of a physical blackberry keyboard) but I can already see the marketing on the buttonless stuff.

Not sure I can agree on buttons breaking on iPhones. I have had every iPhone since day one and have never had a loose or broken button of anykind.

Water proofing? Apple will never advertise a waterproof iphone. It leads to too many warranty and support claims.
I could see them going portless at somepoint. But not to benifit their customers. Just to save a buck on ports

Sorry, just posting random thoughts as they have them. But let's talk about this device as a telephone. Remember that word? My fiance said that during calls, I sound so much clearer than I did on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I also hear calls much clearer.

That's been my issue too, also have the 14 Pro Max and AirPods Pro 2. I am unable to use iPhone + APP for work calls, everyone tells me to repeat myself and audio cuts out. I made some test calls to myself and I sound like I am under water. I did an AC+ exchange and issue persists. This has been going on for a few months.

I'm using the new Razer Hammerhead Hyperspeed wireless buds with my S23+ and can make calls again. I'm tempted to get a pair of Samsung Buds 2 Pro to use with the phone, seems they are as seamless with the Galaxy phones as the AirPods are with iPhones.

It's been a week with my S23 Ultra. I really don't have any complaints about the phone. It's the best Android phone I've ever used, hands down. I'm not new to Samsung but I've always given up pretty quickly because of the lack of smoothness, annoyance with the amount of bulk in software features, etc. I'm getting the hang of the camera, too. I'm pretty proud of this photo that I took. (If any of you like energy drinks, Ghost's Warhead Sour Watermelon is SO good!)

if you speak to places that repair em, you tend to hear about them being damaged with people trying to put cases on etc. be interesting to see how case manufacturers do with no buttons...

well the marketing may stay clear of "water proof" and just claim "world leading water resistance" but however you want to put it, they'll almost certainly say it :)

I mean remember, I'm not defending them! I like buttons and ports :) I'm just saying I can already see the glossy marketing

I could certainly see them marketing like that. Never seen before level of water resistance or something like that. Can’t say I go many places where this is needed though

I still don’t know why Apple haven’t added a google screen calling type feature yet either. Not to make this about Apple but hey if we keep mentioning ultra it doesn’t count that we are going off topic lol

Siri is utter rubbish IMHO. I hate it (I also can't pronounce it which means it ignores me unlike alex/google/bixby etc.)
I think Apple made a knee jerk reaction to buy an early AI and got lumbered with a pretty poor solution.
VERY interesting that samsung have got bixby to do the same as google AI on call screening before apple have even mentioned it.

You might be right I guess will see when it comes to the charging. It’s sure apple will market it like they are debuting USB C With the 15 series

lol yeah I’ve been impressed Samsung adding bixby text call. I think all companies need something like this. The amount of times I’ve had calls from spam on my iPhone

hehe yeah :) that's for sure it'll be the BEST usb-c ever and "this is our best iphone ever"......

thing is, will they mess with it and implement a slow version with mega expensive cables?
