Apple engineers / designers have no vision (literally :lol)

No one in their right mind would put the app settings OUTSIDE of the app. It is akin to putting your furniture outside on the driveway
Microsoft did the same thing with the control panel and look at their market space. The control panel has settings for every app, so to make some type of change it's easy enough to use settings as opposed to opening every single app. But to each their own.

The control panel might have options for apps but the apps still have preferences within the app itself.
The control panels app settings are windows centric rather than app centric.
Try changing the i/o of a daw within control panel and see how far you get.

Serious question, have you used a phone with an in-screen fingerprint sensor yet? The OnePlus 6T is not good. You need to hit the spot perfectly every time. Not only that, it can be wildly wonky at times. It is not nearly as quick of a process as traditional fingerprint sensors because you can't feel it when you aren't looking at or holding the phone. Yes I know Samsung is using an ultra sonic sensor and not optical. But you still need to perfectly place your finger on it.

I owned and sold the 6T. Currently using a Pixel 3 XL and the traditional rear (physical) sensor is so much better. I'll take Touch ID, Face ID, or modern Android rear sensors any day over these new in-screen sensors.
The under display FP of Samsung is entirely different tech than OnePlus and others,it used Ultra Sonic and is vastly superior.

I said in my post that I know Samsung is using an ultrasonic FPS and OnePlus an optical....

I've owned the 6T and returned the S10+ after four days for a few reasons. The FPS is just as slow / fast as the 6T. Many times it was slow or harder to unlock. Same narrow sweet spot. The big advantage of ultrasonic is that the whole screen doesn't light up to read your finger and is more reliable, worked when wet, etc. I scanned my thumb twice to get a better experience. It doesn't come close to capacitive FPS in my Pixel 3 or Touch ID. Just my own opinion.

S10 is a fantastic device. Just not for me...the FPS was not why I returned the phone.
