Do we know that they can return especially after custom SW. I find it highly unlikely that Samsung will take the inventory back because it's not sold. Sammy and Apple seem to share record breaking sales and I can't figure out why.

Yes .... That's just part of the leverage that mobile operators have on manufacturers. Hence they get their bloat pre-installed etc......

They get their bloat because they install it not because Samsung does.
No wrong..... its Samsung that puts the ROM with the customisations approved (demanded/required) from the carrier on the device.

Carrier recieve basic rom from manufacturer. They test it and add their additions and then send it back approved to the manufacturer who then puts it on the device marked with carriers model code (CSC code in case of Samsung).

Subsequent updates are done the same way, sent to carriers who add their bloat then send back approved to Samsung who then distribute via OTA.

Carriers orders are not sales. Carriers can often return unsold stock at no cost to themselves. It what gives carriers an incentive to stock particular manufacturer models and a competitive advantage over traditional independent mobile retailers.

Remember that when a Carrier orders devices from a manufacturer like Samsung, they have to be tailored and software adjusted for that particular carrier (simlocked / branded with bootscreens / carrier bloat installed into the rom) when they (a carrier) order devices, so they order not just for first weeks launch but for as much product as they think they will need over a much longer period of time (as much as a year ahead).
yes i do realize that. that's why i did not include customer orders otherwise the numbers would be much higher.

uhh you do realize the '20 million pre-orders' number isnt actually from customers but WORLWIDE from all mobile operators and carriers etc right?

thats not the same thing as a 'preorder' at all, where apple only counts preorders from actual customers.

do you really think they are going to return all 20mil? hell even if half of thoes are returned it's still twice as many iphone6/6+ units that were pre-ordered in 1 day. i think apple did like 4 or 5mil on day 1.

I think you have that backwards but since I can't prove it we'll have to agree to disagree.

And in that sentence you prove only that you still fail to understand the difference between a carrier pre-order and an actual consumer sale.

I did not know Samsung had a easy mode on Android.

Where do i find it? Is it in the settings?

It's not on tablets, it's on some of the phones. In settings under personalisation it's listed there as EasyMode. They have had it a good while now.

Here it is on my Note 4 (running lollipop)

Thanks MRU but a shame it is not on tablets for example my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4.

And all so i don't have a Samsung smartphone or any phone in fact, i will be getting a good Samsung smartphone in the next year maybe the new Galaxy S6 or Note 4 or 5(when that comes out this year)

I don't find Android with Touchwiz that hard to use, it is easy and user friendly to use and is way more advanced then IOS with things like Multi window, Multi users/profiles. :)
