I have an iPhone 6 and an S5 now. I'll let you know which bends first, though I am pretty sure that won't be anytime soon.

Takes a very special person to be able to bend their phone.

Touchwiz, Touchwiz, and Touchwiz. It blows.

I am a Nexus fan, and stock Android is the cats meow, and I will admit Sense 6 is really good too. But Touchwiz, is just barf producing nasty. Why does Samsung need to totally ruin the Android OS like that ?

Right now I have an HTC One M8, converted to 'GPE' it is my favorite Android phone ever. And I have owned 13 different flagship Android phones the past five years.

Samsung phones have great hardware, and beautiful screens, and even the plastic build can be ok, once a nice case is covering it anyways. But man Touchwiz just irks me. Where as stock Kit Kat 4.4.4 is just so pleasant and well designed, and Material Design coming in the big L update will amke stock Android much better still, where as Touchwiz will still be the ugly one.

I have an unbent S5 too, but from watching the video of the 6+ bending, it doesn't look like you need to be that special to bend it, time will show how many special people there are ;)

Anyway, I'm just having a laugh, I'm not going to go on about it...

The bend in phones is not some new development. I can bend any phone in half pretty easily. Anodized aluminum and plastic (sorry, I mean "Polycarbonate") are not particularly bend proof.

I will never understand the hate for TW. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones, or the complainers are one of the unlucky ones, but TW has been great for me and keeps getting better and better. The lag and bugs some complain about, I haven't experienced. And don't say I wouldn't notice cause I have a Nexus pure Android device and iOS device to compare against TW.

Polycarbonate does correct itself better than aluminum .

Anyway, time will tell how much of an issue bend gate is...

You're right, I believe, but I wouldn't be surprised if the plastic is more likely to crack.

C'mon…you gotta admit. The IP6+ should not bend under normal use. Putting it in your pocket and sitting is normal use. I have had the OnePlus, LG G3, Note 3, OPPO Find 7 all 5.5 inch phones. I carried them in my front pants pockets and never had one bend or crack or even thought they would…...

I just found out my Stepdad has to be in surgery to take out a second tumor in his brain tomorrow. A second bump. Started using Samsung Galaxy Note 2 two years ago. Very low SAR. Not enough time to save my Stepdad after using 25+ years with using a cell phone everyday as a real estate agent and mortgage broker owner.

For whatever crap Samsung gets from haters, they do have the lowest SAR. The readings of cancer related to heavy use of smartphone radiation is starting to become much realer to me. Don't get to caught up with your phones. What you love or are addicted so much might kill you at the end.

I'm a cell phone GEEK myself. I gotta stop with this current vice of mine and start worrying more about safety and health. Cancer sucks. Long, painful death. My cousin's husband died from a brain tumor himself this year and he was only 26.

In the end, if Samsung was smart, they build the Galaxy S 6 to more the physical size of the Galaxy S III but with the case design of the Galaxy Alpha phone.

For the vast majority of users, they don't need a "regular" cellphone the same big physical size as the Galaxy S 5 (which is approaching the physical size of the original Galaxy Note "phablet"). The Galaxy S III was the perfect physical size for a large-screen cellphone, in my humble opinion.

I would also suggest that Samsung serious consider making the Galaxy S 6 a true "Google Play" phone that uses Google's own user interface "skin" so it is Google--not Samsung or the cellphone carrier--that controls the Android updates. Because the Galaxy S 6 will not use the S-Pen stylus, such a suggestion is quite viable. In short, make the first showcase phone for the Android Silver certification program.

Of course they shouldn't. But there are a number of other devices that have the same issues, but they are not the latest iPhone so we don't hear about it.

I would love to know how many of the 10 million iPhones buyers actually witness this.

Which ones? But it is news when the newest model of the best selling smartphpones in world have the design defect. The people reporting this are Apple faithful. If this were a Samsung phone like the Note 3 or 4 with this issue….would you react differently?

I think they have took a step in the right direction this year with the build of the Alpha and Note 4 builds. I think that's the way forward

Note 4 is the first samsung phone that I've been interested in checking out in a long time. Samsungs stock dropping 15% doesn't change that.

They lack the hype, following, and marketing machine that is Apple. Actually, I wonder what Samsung commercials would be like without Apple in the picture.

Maybe Samsung should stop focusing on Apple when Apple is the one copying them now?

I really miss this Samsung:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bu0IPC2F2g

This was an inspiring commercial that made you feel powerful. Not sure what happened with the latest phones.

^^ I agree. No marketing degree here, but one would think rule #1 is never mention your competition. Every time I see such an advert. I can't help but feel it gives credibility to the competition and dilutes the main product attempting to be advertised.

Somewhere along the way, they must have had a marketing person come from the political arena where negative advertising seems to dominate in spite of the fact that most everyone hates it. Sarcasm is cute when placed correctly, but it will always remain Sarcasm and no one likes a smart alack.

My disdain for touchwiz is due to the delay in updates. Also, I'd rather start with a clean canvas than whittle down touchwiz. I am not a regular user I agree, but I want to buy a google phone with samsung hardware. I just feel google is better with software than samsung.

For updates, my gpe s4 has been anywhere from 2 days to 3 weeks behind nexus, starting with 4.2.2 to now 4.4.4 (pretty good sample size) I just don't value samsung features enough to wait six months. Obviously the note needs touchwiz, not arguing there.

Stock android galaxy s series is the ultimate nerd phone IMO. The high end nexus some people yearn for with stuff google hates like sd card and removable battery.

I'm not going to say every iPhone commercial is great. I do like some of them a lot, I even liked some that they fired their marketing firm over. But I feel this is getting stale:

1) the comparison/ripping Apple;
2) everyone asking, "is that the new Galaxy?"

The commercials are too literal, let's say. And we're heading into year 4 with the same material, subject.

I just wonder when folks truly are going to WAKE UP?

Did the Mac vs PC TV ads hit to literally for you? (Of course not, they were pro apple).

And iOS software? How is that working out for everyone. The internet is BLOWING UP over the update that just launched causing a drop in everyone's cell service. Wow. Just wow. Their phones are bricks. Literally bricks.

And the complaints over iCloud? I don't even know what it is but I do know all my photos are backed up on Google's servers when I take them. I can text from my phone, tablet or computer (MightyText) and continue emails on all devices. It's called a draft in Google's world. Apple fans have seriously not had any of this until now? (Well, technically not right now. Just in the future. You just don't know when.) You just have to wait like you had to wait for larger screen phones. And you don't know how long the wait will be. Like the watch. After Valentine's Day? Probably after? But just wait, we'll be right with you because our SERVICE is awesome.

Why wait.

Geez. Let it go, people.

It isn't the lag or bugs, honestly the lag has been reduced quite a bit and the bugs as well. However it is the look and feel of the skin and the overhead that is demands. I've put GPE roms on phones before that had TW. It is like night and day in regards to the performance boost you get out of it. What I personally hate the most about touchwiz is the look. It is incoherent and neon blue and green gingerbread throw back. Of course you then get certain parts of it updated and now you got some skeuromorphism apple knock off apps, some apps in the old grey/blue neon green theme and now some apps in the current "I wanna be just like Google and Apple" white everywhere theme. It is a mess.

I can understand your complaint, hey if you don't like how TW looks I can't say you are wrong about your personal preference. TW is pretty consistent these days, I don't see any evidence of gingerbread anymore, I have my N3 in front of me and trying to find that old neon blue/green GB theme which I know TW used to have here and there but I can't find any setting or app that has that.

Personally I've found iOS to be quite disjointed, more so after iOS7. What really grates on me is the blinding white on slightly less blinding white theme, good luck using your iPhone in a dark room. Most of the stock apps have this disjointed, white on white appearance. Calendar app is horrible, they took a step backwards when they took away the ability to see appointment text in month view, it's also white on white and your only hint that you have an appointment is an ambiguous grey dot. That's just a few examples, I'm not sure if this has changed in iOS8 though. iOS settings are a huge pita to me, always having to drill down to find things and once again white on blinding white.

In the end it's just personal preference though as I used iOS for years and it was just what I was used to. I think one of the hugest advantages to android though is the ability to switch to a dark theme.
