Apple's introduction of their new iPhone pricing 'scheme' is sort of genius..lets them circumvent the carriers, provide their customers with an unlocked device and offer a price that at first glance seems very doable and comparable to carrier pricing.
Yep. It is until you think about it. If my wife and I were to get out iPhone of choice, it would be ~38 and ~48 a piece (64gb regular and plus). That is roughly $90 a month in top of our carrier billing.... That is a lot to pay for a phone.
She has a 64 gb s6 and I a 64 gb note 5. We post $51 a month combined on T-Mobile. That is why high jump on demand, in which were can trade in the phone at anything, or just pay it off. I know T-Mobile is cheaper in general, but that is about $40 a month cheaper for phones that at are, at the very least on equal footing.
What's even smarter is that once Apple hooks people in this upgrade plan, why would they ever go into a carrier store again? This, shielding them from seeing the cheaper alternatives.
I apologize if I come across as an apple hater in the last few post. I just bought a brand new retina MacBook Pro 13 inch, & a brand new iPad air - 64 gigabyte LTE a few weeks ago. In my opinion the MacBook Pro retina and iPad air to offer the best combination of hardware, features, and compromises in their respective spaces.
Yet products like the MacBook and Apple watch are overpriced. I personally think that the iPhone currently is overpriced for the technology that it offers. I really wanted it to persuade me from the note 5 back into the Apple ecosystem. But I can't buy the best tech available at the time, in the my opinion the note 5 is the best technology available in a mobile device right now. I also think that the gear s2 will be the best SmartWatch available.
Honestly I hope that the high prices eventually to affect Apple, as it seems to be affecting their stock as of lately, because then it would bring them back down to a more consumer friendly level.
Sorry for any typos, I didn't proofread it, & I typed it all using my voice on the note 5.
