How so? I’d imagine doing something like a 4K video conversion Apple’s chip would win. If your definition of performance is the ability to keep 50 tabs open that you’ll never go back to, I guess the Samsung would win on the technicality if more ram...but that has nothing to do with CPU performance.
Then your definition of performance is converting a 4k video which nobody does on their phones, instead of opening and using multiple Apps like every person ever? I see...

S9 is limited to five minute length 4K 60 FPS videos anyway. where there’s no limit on time on the X with video recording past 5 mins, guess the chip gets too hot on the power hungry Exynos.

A11 Is superior chip to Exynos. Exynos has faster download speed and if you open up a lot of apps it beats the X by fractions of a second.

Right, according to you and some other posters, all Samsung fans do all day on thier devices is open apps and nothing else.... And how is the performance once that app is running....like processing 4K or recording 4K for more than 5 min... yeah not very good. Or how about much better battery life with a smaller battery...

Fake graphics, my Note 8 pisses on my iPhone X battery and performance which I need to recharge 2 to get through the day. All of what "Samsung fans" do on their phones is use it to their maximum potential and enjoy the latest of what technology has to offer unlike "Apple fans" who buy their phones to make false claims about something they never used before like performance, do you even know what performance is since iOS 7? I bet you don't. Nobody is going to process a 4k video in their phones and if they do it's the only thing the iPhone can do better atleast, too bad it can't outup the 4k video you just converted, barely can a 1080P in those iPhone 8's 750p screens.

Did you expect the Samsung sales guy to recommend their main rival's product? His job is to talk BS for a living.

Well the same could be said about Apple reps and so forth . Some Apple reps are not but a lot do . One guy I had an whole conversation why I got rid of my Note 8 and he was shocked

An actual detailed review on chip performance

https://www.anandtech.com/show/12520/the-galaxy-s9-review

A11 demolishes the s9 exynos. In fact a10 or even a9 would beat it in pure cpu terms.

What Samsung has advantages in is the amount of ram. S9+ with 6gb in many circumstances would keep more apps in memory than an iPhone with only 3gb ram.

The A11 sure but not the A10 or A9. The snapdragon beats the A10 in certain tests

I’m trying to explain why the language you’re using is conflicting. If your measure for CPU performance is something that relies solely on the amount of RAM your using then you’re not commenting on CPU performance by definition.

I asked what your interpretation is, postulated one that is very common here in the forums in the absence of knowing yours (to keep the conversation going), and instead of providing what your considerations were you simply commented on mine.

I’m just asking again because I don’t know still, what was the basis of the comment that started this back and forth?

I’m not trying to be snarky with you, I genuinely don’t pay much attention to CPU advancements for The Android market and was (still am) under the impression that Apple’s silicon team has been pulling away from the industry in terms of performance.

Nope it seems to be the consensus, nothing fake about it.

Regarding recording 4K at 60 FPS ... you can’t lol, everyone that has an iPhone X or iPhone 8\8 plus can. I know I do. Note 8 can’t.

You mean watching it on my 4Ktv, don’t even need any wires, Apple TV 4K takes care of that.

Just because you can’t with your note 8 doesn’t mean is useless

Do you read what I write or just spread nonsense? I said how you wouldn't be able to watch a full 4k movie in your iPhone. If you keep believing these benchmark tests then there's no point to keep this discussion further.

Opening an App relies on CPU and OS performance and that's where the S9 shines above any iPhone right now.

Actually you said:

Yes and I replied I can output it to Apple TV.

You called the benchmarks fake graphics, they aren’t. Ofcourse there is nothing to talk about after I supplied links and more examples refuting your bs... but hey don’t let that stop you from making up more nonsense.

Right... you keep on opening those apps in rapid succession...according to you and some others here that’s all an s9 or note 8 are good for.

Opening apps lol.

Wow. Not even an attempt at fleshing out the assertion. What exactly do you mean by this and can you provide some type of evidence?

Evidence of the S9 being faster than the X?

I talk about my own experience with many devices I own from both companied, i dont rely on benchmarks to form an unbiased opinion like you do.

Wow. Just wow. Literally exactly what I postulated earlier. You ignore that the iPhone X is literally 5 seconds faster in the first round, and point to the second round WHICH IS COMPLETELY BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF RAM just as I said.

You literally defeated your own point. The CPU in the X is clearly faster. This thread is discussing CPUs and you sidestep that fact by pointing to a completely different spec.

My 8 plus battery life is great when you factor in standby drain, but I feel like I got more usage with my galaxy s8+. iPhones always get smoked on YouTube battery tests. That’s not real life usage, but you will notice they are almost always last.

You clearly have reading or intrepetation issues since I said from the begining that not even the A11 being faster the iPhone X still loses in real world performance to the S9.

As people have repeatedly pointed out to you throughout the thread, opening 10 apps in a row repeatedly is not real world usage, unless you’ve got some serious OCD issues.

Unless it's the iPhone opening up the apps faster then it's being considered as real world performance

Never argued that, just pointed out IN A THREAD ABOUT CPUs that even your own evidence shows the X is faster when RAM is not the consideration.

Your evidence is to a completely different argument and I don’t understand how you don’t see that in your own posts.

What I want to know is what are you doing to that X? I use the shizz out of my X and it still goes almost 2 days.

Not really, if you watch the videos closely you can see how the iPhone loses in almost all App opening times vs the S9, not to mention the 1+.

2nd video, 1 minute until the end of round one. Wtf are you talking about?

For a family guy I love my 4K videos that I watch on my 4K monitor and my 4K TV when I play it back, I don’t play it back on my phone LOL.

The first video doesnt appeal to you does it? :p
Even on the second video the iPhone X lost in performance compared to the S9.

That's exactly my point, he talks how its so important to decode 4k video on his phone when he cant even play it back in that resolution :D

The exynos S9 seems higher than other android phones on geekbench 4 for some reason. I don't personally own the exynos version of the S9 to make a comparison. A11 should be faster based on what I've read, but the iphone X's biggest weakness is the RAM management. I never liked it as iphone 7 on IOS 10 had great RAM management, and to go from there to the poor RAM management on the more expensive iphone X was disappointing. I do hope IOS 12 cleans this up.
