Picked up a Tab S7 yesterday from Argos for £494 "Wife Discount" & the Keyboard from Amazon £145.

It was a toss up between the Tab S7 & the iPad Air 4 I went for the Tab S7 because it was cheaper offer's 120hz display, get the S Pen for Free, and the keyboard while not as good as the magic keyboard get's the job done & is also alot cheaper, plus I can now use Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for cloud gaming.

Other things such as my Galaxy Buds Live now do seamless switching between the Note 20 Ultra & Tab S7
All my apps setting ect went straight onto the Tab S7 from my Note 20 Ultra.

Upto now been really liking the Tab S7 so much so I've now put my iPad mini 5 up for sale.

I wasn't going to get one but a client (funnily they're all Apple) decided to be massively generous and give me an S7+ 5G 256GB for Christmas so I'm majorly happy about that! Arrives Wednesday.

Honestly for the prices they're going at now, the s7 tabs are a steal. I returned one before because the app quality was lacking. But the hardware is top of the line. With the latest price drops, it's easy to overlook the dip in app quality compared to the ipad. Especially when the equivalent package with the ipad pro costs almost $400 more.

I have no problems with Android Apps on the Tab S7 the one's i use work as good as they do on my phone without any scaling issues.

If anything i had more problems on the iPad with unsupported apps my security camera for instants, would only work in mobile mode and had to use the 2x zoom on it, on the Tab S7 works full screen & no problems, same goes for the Sony headphone app again 2x zoom on the iPad, no problem at all on the Tab S7.

Thanks! I'm trying to decide if I want something like this to match my S21 Ultra or just go with something like a Surface Pro.
For what it's worth I've been extremely happy with the Galaxy Tab S7+ as its not a laptop. While a lot of functionality overlaps the tablets and laptops (including 2-in-ones) for me are not the same thing. What I do on each is distinctly different, and in different ways, even though things like mail and web browsing is common between them. For me they have very different strengths and hence, purposes.

Found a cheap deal for a Tab s7 Plus and Keyboard and figured I would give it another try and see if it can make me cancel my M1 iPad Pro preorder.

So far I'm really liking it this time. The keyboard, while only average, makes a huge difference to the experience especially in Dex mode. Seems like some of the apps I had an issue with before like Teams have been updated to make use of the screen as well.

Does this compete with the IPP in terms of speed or power? No. But for the price it's probably good enough, especially for mostly media consumption given how good that screen is.

I want one too, still waiting for the right deal on the tablet/keyboard combo.

or I'll pre-order the Tab S8 plus whenever that comes about, there's usually a free keyboard deal.

I pre-ordered the IPP M1 11 inch but when I saw a deal for the Tab S7 Plus and Keyboard for $500 I thought it was too good to pass up. I'm really enjoying it so far. The display is just so much better than on my iPad Pro. It's night and day difference.

That’s an amazing deal. I don’t think I’d be able to pass a deal like that up. You can’t beat a Samsung tablet for watching content. It’s always been that way.

Perhaps the OLED version. I have an 11-inch S7 and it is fine and has a good display, but it should be on par with the non-miniLED Pads.

The screen on the S7 has the advantage of being in the 16:10 format, which is better for watching videos than 4:3 (although worse for tasks such as reading PDFs and browsing websites). However, the screen on the S7 has more glare than the one on the iPad (which I solved with an antireflective layer).

Yeah, I would only go for the OLED 7 Plus. The display was the whole reason for getting it for me. I mainly use my tablet for media and its about the best display on any tablet along with maybe the new iPad Pro (which is nearly $1k more for similar storage).

Is that $1k difference before or after you tossed in a micro SD card for an extra 1TB? ?

But yeah, the AMOLED display in the S7+ is awesome as I too mostly use it for media consumption albeit can be a bit reflective. The other most notable downside to the S7+ (which isn't exactly the tablet itself) is that both of the Samsung covers (book and keyboard covers) for it are too heavy for my liking. All those magnets really shoot up the total weight.

I would gladly buy the S7 Plus, but the S7 is the only model available here in Brazil. Still, the regular S7 with 256 GB and LTE was cheaper than the low-end 8th gen iPad, so I ended up buying it.

That's crazy. The 8th gen iPad is much cheaper than the S7 here.

I know that! Apple's products are incredibly expensive in Brazil. All electronics are outrageously expensive, in fact, but those manufactured by Apple are even more. When I bought the S7, the basic 12.9-inch iPad Pro was over $2,500.

I'm not understanding the disdain for the regular Tab S7. I had some concern about the screen as well, considering my Tab S3 had the AMOLED display. The screen on the regular Tab S7 is REALLY nice. Colors are vibrant, the screen is bright (when needed) and it's responsive.

See this guy eat his words on this topic after having similar thoughts before actually trying the device -

Samsung have always made good displays whether they are oled or LCD. All of my older Samsung tablets and that had LCD displays had better displays than their iPad counterparts.

Im sure the LCD panel is just fine. There are just limitations with what that screen can produce due to the hardware. The blacks, contrast, brightness, etc. on OLEDs will just always be better. I just went from a iPad Pro 10.5 (LCD) to a Galaxy Tab S7 Plus and side by side theres a massive difference in the things I listed above. And Apple are very good at dialing in their LCD displays.

Yes, the screen on the S7 is very good. However, it is LCD, and it shows when watching movies or series, as blacks are nothing like those in OLED displays.

Feeling better about picking up this over the new iPads after all the display isses the iPads are having. Apparently blooming is a real problem on the new miniLED displays they shipped out.

I watch a ton of TV and movies with subtitles, blooming would do my head in.
I hope the Tab S8 plus is a beast I'll pre-order.

Personally I think the blooming "issue" on the new iPad 12.9" mini-LED is blown out of proportion and was a targeted game to discredit the model. Will any LED backlit display beat an OLED when it comes to completely doing away with blooming… no. Is the new iPad as close to it as we're ever going to get with LED backlit displays… probably yes. Without having considered power, weight and cost etc etc I think it'll give a S7+ a more than decent run for its money (aspect ratio aside… for me and my usage - content consumption - the S7+ is a hands down winner here but that said, anyone with a need of 4:3 would say otherwise, so YMMV).
