I just received a PaperLike for my 2018 12.9 - went on without a bubble and no dust, no issues with faceid or touch sensitivity. Reasonable compromise between texture and clarity - I like it, not least because it doesn’t attract fingerprints. The extra tooth it gives the Apple Pencil is much appreciated too. It has a notch-shaped cutout down the top edge that leaves the cameras and microphones exposed.

I ordered the Moshi Ivisor AG which is what I’ve used on all my other iPads so hopefully this one works well for me also.

I just went to dispose the packaging of my MediaDevil screen protector and I didn't realise there was something still in there. I nearly threw away two perfectly good Maoams! What a surprise.

Full disclosure: TechMatte asked me to try their amFilm screen protector: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JQ3YZT7

I currently have the first of a 2-pack installed on my 11". The screen protector has tabs on the installation film to make alignment easy, along with the usual full compliment of installation gear (dry wipe, wet wipe, microfiber, and really good dust stickers). I did my usual steamed-up bathroom install.

  • This is the first screen protector I've had on the 11" that didn't have the edges unseal and pop up whenever the slightest amount of pressure was applied to the screen. The thickness (thinness?) does not affect the adhesion of the Smart Folio in any appreciable amount, either.
  • The bevel is very soft and round (no sharp edge) and as a nice touch, the notch for Face ID mimics the design of the iPhone's notch.
  • I've encountered no touch sensitivity issues using either my fingers or the Pencil, and the 11" responds to pressure changes just fine.
Of the screen protectors I've tried (and wasted money on thusly), TechMatte really came through with, honestly, what we expected of a tempered glass screen protector in this day and age. I also have to say that their tempered glass screen protector for the Nintendo Switch is equally top notch. Well, bottom notches, since the Switch has the front facing speakers at the bottom, lol.

I just got the 11 and bought the Tech Armor film, and I got this weird rainbow line on both of the ones that came in the pack in the same place. I emailed Tech Armor and they said to observe it for a week and see if it goes away. Sounds like BS to me, and extremely disappointing because I’ve been buying their products almost exclusively since 2014. It seems their quality has fallen.

I’ve ordered the Amfilm PET but it won’t get here until after Christmas, so in the meantime I’ve ordered a 5 pack of the SMAPP brand to try.

Thanks, I am intersted in this as well. I have read that intallation is tricky though and would be intersted in your feedback when you have used it a while longer. Thanks!

I’ve put quite a few on; I found it as easy as any other tbh. Got it on straight with no dust or bubbles, first time; best tip is do it in the bathroom with a hot shower running; the steam keeps dust out of the air; and don’t peel the whole backing off before you try to install it (just peel one edge off and line that up, then peel the rest off and ‘roll’ it onto the screen)

I don’t understand how anyone puts up with a non-glass screen protector with it being almost 2019.

I have a coworker who liked to brag about his “airplane film.” No dude, you have a Zagg rubber screen protector that ruins the viewing and touching experiences of your phone. ...and it sure as hell didn’t help with whatever caused the dent in your phone’s speaker grill. o_O

I use to be that guy, until midway through this year, when I used my first glass screen on the iPhone. I didn’t know any better & just got used to the drag of film protectors.

The glass one I’ve had for months now still feels smoother than the actual screen itself.

I’m waiting for Belkin to release one for the 11” iPad Pro as I’m not comfortable using the tablet naked.

I've had that happen with iCarez screen protectors on my X, where the glass was better than stock.

I had almost resigned myself to the fact that the iPad I had no intention of replacing for at least 4 years (given it's exorbitant price) would become a scratched mess, due to none of the current glass protectors not having some fatal flaw, be it no Face ID, touch sensitivity issues, or not sticking to the edges of the screen, and then I was contacted by TechMatte.

This screen protector works, and they even give you two:

I actually always use glass on my phone and Power Support film on my iPads. I look to keep my iPad as light as possible. Power Support films are crystal clear and have zero drag.

Tech Armor has really gone down in quality. I’ve tried emailing several times about the weird rainbow line and I just get told it’s normal and that’s just how it’s supposed to be. ********. I’ve been buying Tech Armor for five years almost exclusively and not one has had this. Both my 11 and my fiancé’s 12.9 has this line, and I’ve gotten multiple packs too. To claim this is normal is ridiculous, it’s a production error! I guess I’m done with Tech Armor, so stupid they won’t own up to this and fix it.

Based on your post, I ordered this same protector and I would echo everything you said in your review. I’ve had zero issues with touch sensitivity with this protector. Thanks for the review and recommendation.

Personally if I were to go with a non glass screen protector then I would go with the Media Devil which is what I did. I know it’s more expensive then the standard film screen protectors and costs more then many glass ones but going by the material type and having used it I think it’s the next best thing to a glass screen protector.

Glad you dig it, and I'm glad I could save you some money and frustration with having to try a bunch of bunk screen protectors first.

Contrary to popular belief, I'm actually not here to just shhhhtpost. :D

Since their site never finishes loading to view the iPad Pro 11 screen protectors, I tried Amazon.

The fact that they can't get a film to adhere to curved edges does not inspire confidence in their product:
https://smile.amazon.com/MediaDevil...=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1546522933&sr=1-4

(I realize that's for an iPhone XS, but they don't have anything for the 11 on Amazon, so this was the only product applicable to me.)

Anyone have a recommendation for matte screen protector. I prefer that over glass protectors to reduce glare and finger prints.

Paperlike which you've seen posted before is fairly matte. I have one myself as well, and I love mine.

A quick photo of how matte Paperlike is.

In the corner is an art lamp that is directly over my iPad. You can see the reflection of the lamp in my glass desktop, but not in the iPad screen itself.

How's the finger touch. I don't use a pen. Not sure I want to pay a premium that's meant for pen use.
