I've been using the sport model for a fair amount of time and have yet to scratch my screen. I do not plan on buying a screen protector (may as well use it and enjoy it). Even if you protect the screen you still have the odds of damaging the casing.

My watch is finally delivering soon. I already have a couple of ArmorSuit protectors sitting at home, ready for it.

I am planning on installing the protector immediately, as soon as I get the watch out the box. Just wondering, how long do you need to leave it before you can use the watch?

I know ArmorSuit themselves recommend 12-24 hours for all solution to evaporate and all streaks/micro bubbles to disappear. Do I really need to leave it that long?

Or can I turn it on and start using it after say 2-3 hours, but it obviously wont look perfect for 12-24 hours. Just don't want to apply it, then risk it moving around when I try to use it while it's still setting in place.

So is 2-3 hours ok? Or should I just not touch it until the next day?

I started playing with, lightly, it as soon as it appeared to dry but I did it at night so shortly thereafter it would have 8 hours of peace and quiet. It looks awesome. You wouldn't know it was even there if I didn't tell you.:)

I had a screen protector and bodyguard on my watch immediately out of the box (38mm SG B/GSB)! I cover all my portables, especially Apple products! I used Spigens gel like cover and screen protector (anti-glare and finger prints). Less than 30$ for everything!

I am a clutz & do a lot of outdoor activities! I don't want to have to worry about my watch while doing any activity.

Wow, all those complaints about scratches out there! To each their own!

Can anyone hear explain how to install the ArmorSuit properly on the Apple Watch. A video would be nice or a detailed explanation. I followed the generic video from ArmorSuit, but and first it seemed too dry, then too wet. I didn't know when to squeegee. Of course I ruined both protectors. I am not that good a putting these wet installs on. I will try one more time once I get the new batch. Any advice would be appreciated.

Armorsuit support sent me an email with an explanation on how to install, but it got me confused because they didn't mention when to squeegee the protector. And how much water on the screen. I don't want to over saturate the protector. Here is what they wrote:

"We have a little trick that will help to apply the flat screen protector onto your Apple Watch. After you have sprayed both sides of the screen protector and fingers, apply the screen protector onto the watch’s flat surface without pressing the edges down. Allow the screen protector to sit on the device for about 10-15 minutes in order to allow the edges to get “tacky.” After this short waiting period, spray your pointer finger with solution and press one edge down making sure that it aligns perfectly to the edge. Now do the same for the side of the watch that is perpendicular to the first side that was pressed down. If you notice that your screen is off alignment, it should still be wet enough for you to slide it across the surface to fix it. Proceed with the remaining two edges. If the edges are too wet, they will not stick to the curved edges of the display. Once the screen has completely dried, it will look crystal clear. Almost like there is nothing on the device at all!

Be sure to spray both sides of the protector, making sure that there are no dry spots on the adhesive side."

You see no where they say about squeegeeing.

So anyone who can explain how they installed it would be appreciated.

If this doesn't work I might have to go to Best Buy and spend a fortune(really don't want to do that) and buy a Zagg and have Geek Squad install it for a total of $.30

yea but you are looking at the screen not at the casing, this is a smart watch the whole point of it is it's screen thats what makes it a smart watch if that gets scratched it will be distracting

I'm very much into cases and screen protectors for my apple watch, but damn, that screen protector looks terrible only covering a tiny portion of the screen. You've got to feel it every time you swipe up/down/across. Get yourself an armorshield and cover the entire glass surface.

I spray my fingers and the underside of the protector, set it on the watch, hold one side and squeegee out the rest and then hold the other side and squeegee it. Then I realign it as perfectly as i can, let it dry a bit. Then i use a hair dryer on the low heat position to dry the edges and spend as much time as necessary holding down the edges with the fleshy part of my finger tips, making sure there are no air pockets under the edges, and I exercise patience.

The first one i put on got an air bubble around an edge after a couple of days so I requested a new one from the company and they sent it out n/c. The second one I put on is perfect even after a week has passed. No one that has looked at my watch has even noticed it...it is completely invisible and smooth to the touch.

I put it on in the evening so that it can dry overnight.

Good luck!

This was my first wet-type screen protector. I was impatient so I used a hair dryer to get the corners to stick better and was outside playing kickball within 2 hours of installation. No problems so far.

I bought the Zagg. Fits very well and I can't see it unless I'm looking for it. Yes, there is some orange peel effect, but you can really only see it in very direct light. It feels very smooth, but the watch did lose a little of that slick glass feel to it. But, given that I have a Sport, peace of mind outweighs the minor tradeoffs. It's a good choice if you're looking to protect the ion-X glass.

i just applied the armorsuit screen protector to my apple watch sport, So it fit perfectly no bubbles , i turned on the screen just to see and everything is looking not very sharp and fuzzy im assuming the liquid under needs to evaporate? i used the squeegee to get the liquid out, im going to let the screen protector settle overnight i guess and see in the morning? any recommendations?

Did you get the matte anti-glare? That is definitely fuzzy.

That should clear up as it dries.

Sorry I didn't post an update, I got the hd clear version and the fuzz has cleared out by now which took about 24 hours. The protector looks great can't really tell it's there, the only negative I guess is that the lower edges lip is not adhered all the way to the glass, I mean it is but on a closer look I can see that there is just a tiny bit not stuck, I hope it won't peel up as dust accumulates?

It was very hard applying the protector I ruined the first protector but the second one went well.

Get some water on your fingers and rub along the bit that isn't stuck down. Once the water gets underneath hold it down for a few minutes until it re-adheres. I had the same thing initially with my corners but did the above method and now it's adhered all the way

I had issues installing the Amorsuit SP, major frustration with getting the edges down. However, I just got back from Best Buy from buying the Zagg for the 42mm.

Perfect install. Same type of wet install, but it went incredibly smooth. Obviously, the price is kinda nuts being 19.99 for ONE, but...it went on very easily and zero rainbow effect. Incredibly happy with it.

I'll take some pics later when able, if you want.

Does Zagg cover the entire screen including curved corners?

I'll give this a shot. I thought I was done with wet installs after the Zagg I got for my iPhone 4, but tried an Armorshield. The install went fine, but a tiny sliver of one or two edges seems loose.

I know Apple wanted to mimic the iPhone 6 design, but to both protect the screen and allow for dry protectors, I wish they had gone with an inlaid crystal design, so there's an actual bezel up to the crystal (rather than a thin, curved portion of the crystal). It would probably reduce all the chips people may be experiencing to nil.

Getting one of these screen protectors wet after install?

I tried the Armorsuit screen protector, mainly out of curiosity, and because I might install one on my wife's Watch, which comes Wed. For folks that have had these for a while: Do they stay on if the watch gets wet? That would be a deal-killer for me.

Many thanks.

Whatever you feel comfortable with. Personally I always put a screen protector on my devices and it felt weird to go without one on my Watch. Within a week I already had a small hairline scratch on the screen and freaked out. Regarding the case still getting damaged, while that might be true it won't necessarily disrupt the usability of the Watch whereas a bad scratch to the front of the screen would.

Anyway, heres how my Zagg HD finally turned out. I took it back to Best Buy to let them try the installation again but they failed, again. Eventually they ran out of protectors so I was refunded the install price and I went to a Zagg kiosk instead. Installation came out much better. I can't even tell there is a protector there most of the time. Very pleased with how it came out.

(Note that the white part on the edge of the protector is not an air bubble. It is actually a reflection of the wall lol)

Thanks. That's good to know. Long-term, I suspect I'll just not use one because eventually, the edge of the protector will start to lift, and then it starts looking terrible until you take it off. May take a few weeks/may take months. I know that the companies promise "Lifetime Replacement" (and why not, as a replacement must be pennies and then the stamp), but the annoyance of installing these screen protectors is high. They should sell them in packs of 10, but I guess by forcing you to send in the old one (at least Zagg did the one time I had a warranty claim) they prevent people from handing them out to all their friends.

That one is perfect. Does it have a back cover?

Mine did not come with them, but I got it directly from bestskinever.com when I took it to their office to measure. I did notice the 38mm model they were using did in fact have a back cover. Might be worth an email over to them to ask.
