If you're upgrading a relatively clean and updated configuration, more likely that not you'll encounter no issues of concern, and performance will be great.
That said, there's always a risk.
If you're upgrading an old machine loaded with old software, background processes, plugins, etc, you're more likely to run into some issues.
Wait until Beta 5 and see if the following issue is fixed. There is a major issue that affects a good majority of Macs where it won't install properly. What happens is that if you are affected, all you can do is move your cursor around. I was one of the lucky people who were able to get Sonoma running properly, and it's good besides this.

Not just you. 2019 MacPro (Intel), same issue here. Happens about 7 or 8 seconds after launch. Always the same crashed thread:

The image you posted shows that your build is 23A5286i which is beta 3, several builds behind 23A5301g
The i at the end of the build number simply means compile number. A is the first compile of 23A5286, B is the second compile, C is the third and vice versa. If it's higher, it means that they have found less major issues. Who knows, maybe we were supposed to get 23A5301h instead of g or Apple just didn't catch the major issue.
I wonder (for us we cannot install db4 via OTA successfully) is there a not OTA version available to try to install?

We are looking for volunteers. If you have a machine in this state or are willing to try to get your machine back into this state by re-attempting to install seed 4. We would like you to speak with an Apple Engineer who will walk you through collecting the logs we need to diagnose this issue.

There is no public beta 2 yet, the title seems to have been changed in anticipation of the public beta.
Did anyone else have all their pet albums become empty except for the "key" photo after upgrading to Beta 4?

odd. i just tried on both my macs, and it works (i don't use them, tho). look for some common denonimator with both macs, since it should work. and have you rebooted?
I’m having no issues using a mixture of macOS and iOS widgets.
