Very cool. Except his face through the drinking glass is sharp and his face outside the drinking glass isn't... just nit picky I guess
Additional glass elements (in this case the beer glass) have an effect on focus. Often times when I'm shooting an over the shoulder shot of an actor wearing corrective lenses, I'll see a great effect where deep focus is significantly out of focus, but the area through the glasses will be tack sharp.
This example looks totally natural to me in that regard.

It seems like photos edited with photoshop... I was expecting something more..
What's the point of limiting the feature to the 7+ if this is finally a software post process? Is it not supposed to be hardware processed?(with the two lens)

Well, it's basically just a blur effect, but it needs the two lenses of the 7 Plus to get the information where the object is in relation to the backround to know what to blur.

Have you not read the manual? It's a product of both cameras each taking specific data which then is combined with software and hardware.

Weird you could do this with a 6 by just focusing on the nearest object.

I guess the effect is more pronounced with the 7.

Yeah - wondering the same thing. Took this with my 7 on recent vacation.

Took this one on an overcast day using the Portrait mode "Bokeh" effect. No touch ups or filters. That coupled with the better camera really brings out the details.

This is the same across all industries. Want a sunroof with your new car? Sorry, the sun roof is not available in the base model. You need to upgrade to the SE model. Oh, you wanted navigation? You need to have leather seats with that so that's the next tier up.

Apple did the same thing with the space black Apple Watch. They deliberately paired it with a stainless steel bracelet only so if you wanted that finish it would cost you $1000 only to turn around 3 months later and offer it with a sports band for $600.

I paid $600 for the stainless steel watch because I didn't want to spend a $1000 just to get the black one so you could imagine How upset I was after the price drop
