Are there many digital art galleries around I wonder.

Seeing the quality of drawings in this thread makes me think there will be many many more artists discovered as they're able to create such detailed drawings without the need to spend money on paints/canvases/brushes etc.

I'd be interested if a digital gallery opened up near me, just to see how far digital art's come.

Started reading through “The Art of Drawing Dragons” I picked up from Barnes @ Noble’s discount rack. Can’t draw a decent head yet but I like the body and wings. This was drawn in iOS 12’s Notes app, which has received some functional additions to its drawing toolset (I.e. can set opacity for each tool). Procreate is still daunting to me.

[doublepost=1536154757][/doublepost]Also, started messing around with Affinity Designer because I like the idea of drawing by vectors, but I am horribly slow at it so far. This took me about 2 hours to make in AD.

There's a lady in one of my Facebook crafting groups who uses Procreate for her designs. She's put up a few videos, with the camera over her shoulder, showing her do some of her designs/fonts. It's incredible. I have Procreate, but I can't draw worth a flip.

You guys are amazing.

Last year, I looked up some art videos on YouTube and went from there. You might want to try because I was in a similar situation. Post-hospital, I am not too concerned with being perfect now; just happy to get some of the details down. I keep saying it, but I am so impressed and encouraged by this thread.

Procreate isn't that hard to use too.

Nudge, nudge. ;) :p

How long did the first one take??

Cats portraits depends, maybe about 3-4 hours. 2nd one was just playing around, less than 1 hour.
Usually I often have an idea before I start drawing, then it won’t take long. But if I don’t know what I’m going to draw but want to create something, start with doodling, then sometimes it takes a day or more to complete :)

Average, I say between 2-4 hours per drawing :)

Nice schnoz! I still haven’t quite found the secret to a great nose yet.
LOL - thanks.:) Every so often, I nail the nose and mouth. This was a particularly challenging image to try to recreate because of the foreshortened features, so I was glad it looked good enough for me without her mouth. :p It is easier when I try to copy comic art because the lines are already drawn, from a frame or image it is more challenging.

That is why my doodles like the attached generally boast the same features mostly forward facing. :)
