I would imagine tomorrow will go something like this:

"Introducing the new 16" MacBook Pro, now with 10th Gen i7 and i9 and AMD Radeon Pro 6000M series GPUs"
It doesn't make any sense.

Why would they announce a new Intel MBP 16" and 10 minutes later render it completely obsolete in the same event by presenting the new Apple Silicon notebooks?

If any spec-bump on the Intel 16" is ever gonna come this year (I have big doubts), they won't even announce it in a press release, let alone in an event dedicated to the future of Apple notebooks.

Maybe they will do just that to appease people freaking out and thinking that apple will abandon intel macbooks in two years, just to show that they are still commited to their intel machines?

Are we talking about the same Apple that was willing to bet on removing the power adapter and earphones from every phone they sell? The same Apple that removed the headphone jack? The same Apple that removed every port on their laptops except for USB-C?

When Apple moves forward, it doesn't look back.

And that's the way I like it. Go Apple! Make all Intel laptops obsolete tonight!

I see your point but this is different, they want to keep selling their stock of intel macbooks and also they did look back, look at the touch id sensor on the ipad air

That's not really looking back, that's likely cost savings. The Air never had anything more than Touch ID. A better example would be the Magic Keyboard.
