this is not the first, nor the last time intel has had a "fix" for this issue.
This IS the first time intel has dealt with this problem - for Macs. I don't think Apple will put up with disgruntled customers like PC manufactures did. Apple will expect more from intel, and expect them to work harder to work this out. If they don't, and it upsets Apple customers (which of course it will) then it would haunt Apple, and Apple doesn't want that. I think this is one reason why Apple has been systematically collecting bad Mac minis, so they can be tested with intels fix first. If it doesn't make the grade with those Macs, then Apple will refuse the fix from intel.

My 2012 Mac Mini has been working flawlessly since I got it (almost two weeks ago). Haven't seen any of the issues you guys are reporting.

Mac Mini 2012 SSD heat problem

i'm having little heat problem, mini 2012 i7,
swapped HDD with SSD (OSZ Vertex 3, green one) and for normal web browsing mini gets worm, which is unusual.
Run hardware test, 4M0T/1/40000002:Exhaust-0 error. Apple care couldn't identify (or didn't) the code, and said that code will be or being investigated by engineering team.
Yesterday swapped HDD back and now running much cooler for same use, it's little strange.

but will run Hardware test again.
SSD is in perfect condition, got from MBP 17 2010, and erased, formatted and clean installed ML. Let me know guys if anyone having same SSD issues.
Please let us know what mac mini, and what SSD are you using

I've also seen in one other thread there is bluetooth range issues.
That and the flickering issue has been stopping me from getting the mac mini

Sad day, too many cores in a small enclosure?

If you read the post, the problem came and went depending on which drive was installed. Thus the problem clearly isn't the CPU i.e. number of cores.

To OP -- since you installed a new (different) drive, is there a chance that Spotlight was indexing all your stuff? Check your Activity Monitor. I switched to an SSD with my Mini and for the following couple of hours I could see the 'mds' process indexing my data and using 100-200% CPU.

No, it won't effect HDMI in that way. In fact one solution has been to remove all but one stick of memory, so just the opposite :p

I'm feeling very much left out since I'm not having any problems, with the HDMI or otherwise. Should I hook up an oscilloscope or some other test equipment to try to get with the program? What does white clipping look like, to the eye?

A week or so I ago I got some snow and black screens for a few seconds as I was switching my HDMI input to the monitor back and forth between the mini and some other devices. Should I be getting all upset about HDMI handshaking glitches every once in awhile?

I am a little pissed about external DVD drives not working right with remote management, but I now understand the issue of DRM with HDMI and I'm going to work around it.

DAMN these intolerable problems!!!!!!!

I'm RETURNING this POS, yelling and screaming all the way.

Well, I tried but I just can't work up a head of steam. Sorry.

Right on my friend. I upgraded to a mac mini recently and have been very impressed. I too got a grey screen for about 3 seconds twice, and im sure it will be fixed in time.
