Well, they probably just removed an old computer, tidied up everything, then placed the new one, connected everything and took the photo. That's what I would do. But over time the place becomes a mess again.
This! 🤣

I am NOT posting a photo of my desk now - after 5 days it's a mess!!

(Still in love with my new iMac!)

Orange is the best color. You're just seeing it wrong.
I can allow for the fact things can look quite different when seen in person. Not just in terms of colours, but also shapes as well. There have been cars I thought looked meh in photos, but looked much better in person because photos did not properly capture the nuanced curves of the bodywork.

All the work is digital 🖥⌨️🖱and saved in the cloud ☁️. No need for paper, pens, or clutter.
Anyone who would clutter their desk with two external SSDs, one for Time Machine and one for a CCC clone; a UPS; DVDs and two drives to play them, one for Region 1 and one for Region 2; Blu-ray discs and a player to play them; a DAC, to get half-decent sound out of a computer; a set of wireless headphones; a telephone and its associated box; a modem; a lamp; a receiver for an infrared motion detector, to let them know that a cat wants in; and assorted knick-knacks, mostly for work; deserves no respect and would certainly never post a photo of their desk.

Enjoying the blue.

Mine arrived today, spent the afternoon setting it up and installing stuff.
Have to say, I'm very happy. Setup was a dream, I've slowly been configuring the machine. I've bypassed the Apple Migration assistant because I didn't want all kinds of old cruft on my shiny new hard disk. But I'm impressed by its quietness, its speed, its beautiful screen, the clarity of the speakers, the coolness, although I haven't really put it under load as yet.

When I tried to network it to my old MacBook Air, I was pleasantly surprised. I connected the two with a Gigabit-certified network cable, and hey presto, I could just see the drive in finder. No faffing about with networking drivers, settings, servers, workgroups or permissions, it just worked. How freaking great is that.

I got a new desk and chair at IKEA today specifically for my blue iMac. This isn't my main "office" as I work from home full-time, and my work desk, chair, and computers are in the actual office. This is in my living room for personal use.

A lot of these setups are so clean it's apparent no real work takes place there.
There’s no direct correlation between the cleanliness of a desk and the amount of work that gets done. A desk doesn’t have to be messy for a user to be productive and vice versa. Quite the contrary, I found that very often the cleaner the desk the more focused and productive the user, and I have made it a point not to hire anyone who can’t keep their work environment clean and free of unnecessary clutter.

The new iMac really blends into the surroundings and draws your attention to the display rather than the bezels.
I agree. I didn't think I would like the light bezels, but now that I've had my new iMac for a few weeks I appreciate how the light bezels seem to help the display blend into the environment and are not a distraction.
