Putting a case on a watch is like driving a car around covered in plastic wrap. You use a case so that you won't scratch it but you never get to see the watch's non scratched body. What's the point?
Mine
Sigh...when will these anti-case comments stop? Seriously, if you have nothing nice to say don't say nothing at all.
Is that an actual film camera?
Got my Hoco band delivered last night, and fitted for size this morning, absolutely love it! 42mm SS.
I try to explain: a normal watch for a man is a kind of jewelry - in Germany it actually is the only jewelry a man can wear beside the wedding ring (at least for "business men"). Due to this jewelry aspect, there are some unwritten rules that apply to watches - and therefore to smartwatches too.
These rules are not written in stone, so they may change because watches only will last a few years because they are no electronic things.
One unwritten rule is, that a watch is part of the owners personality, small scratches and dings show the story behind a watch and because of this they tell the story of the owner of the watch. This is one of the reasons why people buy new watches (the new owner creates the "story" of a watch with every ding or scratch), or want watches with a "history": A used watch that shows the story of a previous owner (Look up Rolex COMEX, or think of an inherited watch from your father).
So now think of a person that wants to keep his watch in mint condition: Is this a person without something to talk about, a person without a story that leaves nothing behind, someone who does not anything let touch hin?. Some people will come to this conclusion - and probably those people are those who comment on people showing their watch with protection. Do not get me wrong: As long as you show your watch while climbing, parachuting, yachting or on an expedition a protection case will be fine: It will be part of the story (Look here: Speedmaster Professional Alaska Projekt: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f239/e-hydrocarbon-alaska-project-139742.html).
And while talking about rules: Do not use watchbands which are to narrow! Just don't do it!
What i see from the photos is that you cant combine the SG Sport watch with many straps.... so the Silver one is the way to go at least for my likings.

You seem awfully determined to make a point that people can't make their own choices as to what they want to do with their OWN watch.
Just bought a white strap for my 38mm SG Sport
Absolutely agree. I mean, if he knew he was gonna do this, he may as well have gone with the aluminium Sport option and not paid out so much extra for a stainless steel body. I absolutely cannot understand this mentality. A Watch does not need a case!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

42mm Space Gray Sports with 3rd party Milanese Strap
Where did you get that? Also, how's the closure mechanism (I assume it's not a loop like Apple's, but two separate halves)?
