My wife's display setup. Band is green too (38mm Al). She likes green :)

Absolutely loves the watch!

It's going to be a looong month waiting on mine... "Ships June". 42mm SB SS.

what watch is yours? Mine is the SS with sports band and got bumped from 4-6 weeks to 3-4 weeks

How did you get the :apple: logo in the monogram complication?

You'll have to make a shortcut on your iPhone/iPad/Mac to type the Apple logo  (Option+Shift+K) and then you can use this on the Watch's monogram selector. It works with other unicode characters also (I've seen a Rolex-esque crown, too).

Guess I have to do some digging, I don't recall seeing the actual monogram setting within the Watch app.

Very cool.

Edit: Found it. :D

SGs are not the only ones that are scratching. SS are also getting scratched too. The article is on MR.

All of them scratch. Just with SS you can buff and polish it out yourself and it will be gone. With SG you can't do that since it has a texture applied to it.

I am getting a sports 38mm today too, I am concerned that the white looks girly and the aluminum doesn't look as good as the stainless. Care to comment?

This was my concern as well. Once I saw it in person and wore it for a few hours it doesn't seem girly at all. The silver aluminum looks better in person than in pictures and actually shows less dirt than the space gray. I ordered both of them and was able to compare them side by side. Happy that I stuck with the silver.

Could someone please elaborate. So you create the shortcut on the mac where ? and how then will it be a selectable item in a complication ? :(

You don't need to go through all of that.
Just go to the Watch app, and in the settings for Clock you'll find the monogram where you can change the initials.

Leave that open and go to Safari / find a site (like this one :D) that has the logo in text :apple:(<--Just like that). Highlight the logo and copy it to the clipboard. Return to the watch app and paste it in.

has anyone on here got actual pics of the SG with any type of leather strap?

I've ordered a SG and some 3rd party leather straps, and really wanna see this combination.

It doesn't work for me. It either doesn't paste an image or if I use it as a shortcut. The emoji shows up but doesn't get placed instead of the text.

I think the Apple logo generated here though is an image instead of text, but the same idea applies. I remembered seeing the instructions on some post over the last week, but couldn't remember where I saw it, and don't have my watch yet to try it and actually document the instructions, but the copy+paste technique would also work if you found the Apple logo in the wild as a character and not an image.

Oh, I found where I saw it first - Gruber tweeted about it: https://twitter.com/gruber/status/589510016799006720/photo/1

Thanks, the tweet says that emoji aren't accepted but regular unicode glyphs are. So shouldn't we able to add it in from the character viewer on the mac ?

I would think so - I added the Apple logo as a shortcut just because I needed to type it here and there on my phone and it doesn't have the character viewer like the Mac.

As for me, I think the easiest way to get the symbol to yourself if you have an iPhone and a Mac is to iMessage yourself with Option+Shift+K typed - then copy and paste it on your iPhone into the Watch app.

Just a quick photo of my watch out of the box and on my wrist! Haven't played with many of the settings yet. The Apple Watch has helped me realise how tiny my wrists are... Really looking forward to getting my leather loop now!

Is that a 38 or 42? Assuming 42....

I dont see how it's a huge shock that the more expensive one looks more expensive? Logic.

I didn't say the SS looks more expensive than the Sport. What I said was that that relative to their price, the SS looked like it was worth $600 and up to $1,100 based on band vs. the Sport's finish making it look like it was only worth about half of its $400 price.

I certainly think that is saying two different things.

Just got mine today. Picked it up at UPS after work.

42mm sport
