1: How are your temps?
2: How do you actually find time to experience the PS5?

Honestly, I have no issues with them and I'm not one for measuring equipment temperatures etc - I just use them as they are supposed to be used and deal with any issues if or when they should arise. I'd rather not go looking for issues that aren't there TBH. In the heat of summer I sometimes point a small desk fan over them, but otherwise I just use as normal. I've never used iStat or any other measuring tool at all.....although that may change at some point if I can be bothered!

As for the PS5 - it hasnt been switched on in several months TBH! But now there are a couple of games I want to play I do need to find some time! My kids are grown and do their own thing now, so hopefully should be able to find some time here and there for some short gaming sessions.......I hope.....!

Those 1M2's are visually quite pleasant (even more-do than my units)!

But I do understand not being drawn to monitor constant measurement.

My suggestion is to not start, because you'll always want to know ;)

I used to play vid. games, but there are always more interesting things that draw me in.

Sometimes I feel the urge, but there seem to always be more pressing things.

Here is my Studio setup. The Studio is an M4Max, purchased a month and a half ago. The monitors are Asus Nitro 27". The desk is a Secret Labs Magnus Pro XL, I like the wire management and accessories available for it. The monitors are on their dual-monitor mount.
The chair is an LF Gaming chair. The AirPods Max are on an Ikea hanger (partially hidden by the chair). I also have an Ikea water bottle mount, it is a perfect fit for my HydroFlasks.

To the right is my radio desk, it has another Asus Nitro 27" monitor connected to a PC (off screen) for radio control and programming.

Yesterday I got the M3 Ultra to replace my MacBookPro as heavy duty machine... I decided to make a clean install...
This thing is a beast!! And the best of all, no noise from the fans compared to the MacBookPro :)

I still have to do some cable work to do... I will wait till the weekend, to be sure that everything is working as expected....

I did struggle with the decision of Ultra or Max... But as I use a lot of virtualization, I decided to go for the Ultra because the higher amount of cores and memory.

I am using two different monitor arms with VESA from PUTORSEN.
I bought them in Amazon Germany:
Apple XDR Pro on this monitor arm: Link to Amazon
DELL U4025QW on this monitor arm: Link to Amazon

Thanks, but I meant the wooden shelf above your mac, and thought your monitor was on it sorry.

It is a walnut shelf from Balolo (a German manufacturer). It is really nice and also modular...

My setup is certainly not as neat as others.
My main challenges are space and cables. This is my most minimalistic setup the last 15 years.

I have two computers
Mac Studio M4 max 64GB (private and work related stuff)
Small HP Linux machine (work only).

In addition I have 18 cabled connected devices, some connected to both computers.
Asus 48" PG48UQ OLED Display
OWC Mercury Elite Pro 2X16 GB
OWC Express 4M2 2X2 GB
2 slot Disk dock for rotating backup disks
OWC TB3 Dock
Asus BR disc player
Topping E2x2 Audio interface
Argon Fenris A4 Monitor speakers
Rega RP1 LP player

Lofree BLOCK mechanical keyboard
Logitech videocam
HP cabled mouse
Trust cabled mouse
Sony MDR-7506 headphones
Logitech video conference headset
Bluewalker UPS
WIFI router and firewall
Internet modem

I stacked most of the equipment on an IKEA Omar rack. It keeps things compact and 12 cm above the table to reduce dust and be able to wipe under it.
The table is a small vintage table
The small rocking chair is the only chair I can sit on for hours without being tired or stiff in my joints.

Hey if it works then it works!
Which chair is it by the way? I could do with something like that!
Thanks

I am amazed by the cable management many in this thread have done.

I may have a plan each time of doing it very neat, but there are so many issues that turn up.....

- Cable lengths, particularly those pesky power adapters with four times the cable length needed.
- Having perfect cable length and not being able to move the table 10 cm
- All those pesky power adapters
- The amount of power sockets needed, and those pesky power adapters that cover two sockets
- Bundling cables is nice, until you have to replace one device
- Hiding cable bundles is even nicer, until you have to replace a device, and then you have to rebundle the whole thing
- Marking cables, I have tried, and failed, several times. How do you mark a cable in a way that may stay on and be easy readable for 10 years through wear and tear, in both ends?

Did I tell you "I hate pesky power adapters"?

Here is my latest set up (I change things around often!) I just got the new monitor yesterday.

IMG_8737.jpg

First the desk: It is a Secret Labs Magnus Pro XL, this is an all metal desk that uses magnetic accessories. It has a cable tray at the back to hide all those ugly wires, power strips etc.

The monitor is a Samsung Odyssey G95C. It was on sale direct from Samsung for $800 and included a free 27" Samsung curved gaming monitor, all with free shipping. I don't suspect that deal will last long with the current business climate. I am using that 27" monitor on my PC to the right that is dedicated to radio programming and control. But we don't care about PC's here...

The main attraction of course is the M4Max Studio just behind the monitor's right half. As per advice from another member here I used a USB-C to DP cable and it worked great. The monitor defaulted to 5120x1440 at 240Hz.

The keyboard is the Logitech MX Keys S, I love this keyboard! I also have the matching mouse, which is great but sometimes I just prefer my trusty Magic Mouse. I just wish I would have kept the black one I used to use with my 2018 Mini but the guy who bought it insisted on that as I foolishly included it and the black keyboard in the picture when I sold it.

Also on the desk is a 9th Gen iPad used for controlling lights and other household stuff as well as answering the phone and Facetime, Zello etc.

Not seen is my LF Gaming chair. I rotate between this and a Herman Miller Aeron. The LF is great but sometimes I like to switch back to my trusty Aeron, especially in a hot Phoenix summer.

Pity color is only for fancy gaming lights. It would be nice to have a great color selection of different cable types and lengths. Today it is like trying to find a black shirt in a goth´s walk-in closet when the lights gone out.

Nice and clean and I love the table.
Does it work well for you to have keyboard and display diagonally to the table and chair?
