And yes it is a third party app. Since it does not come with the phone. Thats the very definition of “third party”.Do you consider your bank app a 3rd party?
I never said im against third party. I said I prefer using first party apps.

If Google forced consistency and the way you’re talking, it would increase the price of lower tier phones. You can buy an android phone for less than $100 and some significantly less. In the USA this is a smaller market, but in the rest of the world where people make $30 a month salary this is a big market. The processor probably isn’t powerful enough for the latest version of android and things like NFC are cut out to save money. There’s nothing wrong with variety. And its variety of choices is not an excuse for an inconsistent experience.
For example, while android is open there is absolutely no reason google does d actually force and require all Oems to be on the same software version.
The fact that in 2025, there are still brand new android phones being sold with android 13-14 when 15 is current and 16 is supposed to be released soon is ridiculous.
I was looking at android phones last night and there are phones that dont have nfc.
even within the same brand and damolg
The experience is both inconsistent and redundant (Motorolas g family and Samsung a family).
I don’t expect high end features in budget or entry phones.
I do expect a basic consistency however.
I actually like that about iPhones is everything is consistent and the way they back up is awesome. I can smash my phone, walk into an Apple Store get a new one, restore it and it’s exactly like the one I had before. Everything is in the same place and it’s like it’s the exact same phone. That’s what make iPhone the better option. You aren’t really compromising much from buying a 16e or a 15 vs a pro max.
Oh, I agree
The fact I can go back to an xs or 11 and while it lacks certain features and may be a smudge slower it isn’t bad.
I like some customization, but as long as it works, I’m happy. I don’t like it when they move things and I have to figure out where it went to, but as long as it works, I’m good. And honestly the only customization I actually like is Niagara launcher. It’s beautiful.
But I personally largely don’t care about android customization so it isn’t a plus for me.
It’s more than just a phone. People play games take pictures and mostly interact on social media. People have very strong, emotional attachment to their phones. I don’t even know why we call it a phone because most people don’t make many phone calls.Exactly. Im an Apple girl through and through but I also don’t care if someone criticizes apple.
This reminds me of the early 2010s when android fans would argue over which OEM was the best lmao.
Like come on now. I can see arguing sports teams.
Arguing about phones? Lmao
I agree with you as most in the Alternative section would as well. Most here have both platforms and enjoy having one foot in each world so to speak. We routinely discuss the pros and cons of each as neither is perfect. As I said before many people spend more time interacting with their phones than their family and friends. They’ve become emotionally attached to them so when someone speaks negatively about their phone it’s similar to speaking negatively about a close family member. It’s on both sides of this fence
No I get it. I just hate the lack of consistencyIf Google forced consistency and the way you’re talking, it would increase the price of lower tier phones. Im trying to remember if it is possible to do a Samsung backup on a Motorola device.Maybe you can do that on android but I’m not sure. I know it has some backup features, but I don’t think it’s that good.
The only one riling anyone up is literally the ppl getting riled up by themselves lol.But the distinction is when someone obviously has their mind up about a platform but just wants to rile people up.
Yeah, you should of followed your first thought and not give them any attention because it's as you stated to rile people up. No point in going back and forth with someone like that.I agree with you as most in the Alternative section would as well. Personally...i most often carry 2 phones...My 16PM and S25U. I switch between them so much it has become a running family amusement when my texts show as green as most of my family have iPhones.
But the distinction is when someone obviously has their mind up about a platform but just wants to rile people up.
Those people as you said, have an emotional attachment to their phone to the extent as to not date someone that does not have the same device.
If you’re sensitive to VALID COMPLAINTS, you’re welcome to use the ignore feature.Yeah, you should have followed your first thought and not give them any attention because it's as you stated to rile people up. No point in going back and forth with someone like that.
I'm all for VALID COMPLAINTS. But YOU came in with an agenda... clearly YOU don't care for Android, so what's your angle here?If you’re sensitive to VALID COMPLAINTS, you’re welcome to use the ignore feature.
Im assuming this forum is an echo chamber where we only can speak positively about android and if anyone makes VALID COMPLAINTS they are trolling lol.
Good community feel.
Your complaint of having to download apps to do things is not a valid complaint, when many iOS users boost about iOS getting apps first and apple has ads claiming " there's an app for that". This is you just grasping at straws to complain about android. The problem is you're too poor to buy luxury devices. "No one ever got fired for buying IBM", buying iPhone is the "safe" choice if you don't want to do any research. I choose android because I can do my "homework " and prefer choice and not being locked in.If you’re sensitive to VALID COMPLAINTS, you’re welcome to use the ignore feature.

Please tell me what agenda I had.I'm all for VALID COMPLAINTS. But YOU came in with an agenda... clearly YOU don't care for Android, so what's your angle here?
Cash app is terrible.Cash App, Venmo, Zelle. Also, you chose one of the worst options to attempt a run at Android. I'm highly attracted to some Android devices, but I can't switch. I'll lose far more than I gain.
It’s not valid to you. It’s valid to me. And you’ll be okay. Or not, thats not my issue.Your complaint of having to download apps to do things is not a valid complaint, when many iOS users boost about iOS getting apps first and apple has ads claiming " there's an app for that". My experience/problem isn't with apple, it is with apple fans claiming apple and their devices are near perfect, tricking people to buy apple. Apple isn't going to fool me twice. https://violationtracker.goodjobsfirst.org/parent/apple-incIt’s not valid to you. It’s valid to me. And you’ll be okay. Or not, thats not my issue.
I personally didn’t ask why you chose android bc and I am going to touch your hand as I say this “that has nothing to do with me”
What I did was share my experience and you seemed to have an issue with it. That my friend is a you(and others) problem. Not mine.
As I said. You’ll be okay. Or you won’t. You can get riled up or frustrated. Your feelings are valid. Insignificant to me of course but your feelings are valid.
But im not going to not share my opinion bc it hurts someone’s feelings that I pointed out google wallet is inferior to Apple wallet.
Because it is.
Y’all are trying to literally debate MY EXPERIENCE as if we are the same person. That is wild. If not a little strange. Im just saying.
Thoughts and prayers.
Sounds like you have some strange parasocial relationship with apple lmao.My experience/problem isn't with apple, it is with apple fans claiming apple and their devices are near perfect, tricking people to buy apple. Apple isn't going to fool me twice. https://violationtracker.goodjobsfirst.org/parent/apple-inc
I am highly critical of Android. BUT....recently had my iphone stolen and my job offered a free Razr for free and I was like okay...save money, no worries.
My friend needed cash for an uber so I figured Google wallet(he uses android) would be useful. Except there is no(please correct me if I am wrong) actual way to send cash or receive cash.
Cash app is terrible.
Venmo i don’t like.
Zelle not all banks are compatible.
What does it being a work phone have to do with sending my friend money lol.Am I the only one confused by why you're using your work phone to send your friend money?
You all act as if I don’t have 10 plus years using android to have the opinion i have lmao.I mean, if you come in with your mind made up about all available options, it makes sense you won't like it. It's like a vegan walking into a steakhouse and acting surprised all the entrees are animal protein.
It’s not for you to see what the big deal is lol. I don’t recall asking you to see the big deal about MY EXPERIENCE.I don't think anyone is supposed to like Cash App or Venmo. Just send your money and be done with it - I don't see what the big deal is.

Why would anyone want to spend money on a premium Android phone when the mid range is sloppy? So you say you're highly critical of android only to accept a work issued android, that, judging from your post you'd likely never choose for yourself in an ordinary world... To then moan that you couldn't send someone money which therefore makes apple superior (to you?). I mean, fair play if that's what's important to you, but not really sure on the point of the post.
That's like me going into the iPhone section and saying how rubbish my (actual) iPhone 13 is that is work issued.
Can't take the post seriously when you "sit and realise that the overall experience is terrible" when you're using a mid range android and moaning that it basically doesn't have apple pay. I've seen some troll posts in my time but this one... 😁😅.
I dont even know how to answer this. You ask why anyone would want to spend money on a premium android phone because the mid range is sloppy. Then proceed to say you used a one plus mid range phone and you'd consider buying another? 😅😂.Why would anyone want to spend money on a premium Android phone when the mid range is sloppy?
I've used the OnePlus 8T and Google Pixel 6a extensively and the OnePlus 8T would make me consider buying another OnePlus product. My experiences with Google products makes me want to avoid them forever.
OnePlus did a good job on the product.I dont even know how to answer this. You ask why anyone would want to spend money on a premium android phone because the mid range is sloppy. Then proceed to say you used a one plus mid range phone and you'd consider buying another? 😅😂.
Make it make sense.
So you therefore think Android mid rangers can be good and then question why anyone would buy a premium Android?OnePlus did a good job on the product.
