Well, you mentioned that the dots were unique look of Apple, but Apple didn't really use them for majority of the time. And it has nothing to do with Android as all that was around well before Android or iOS, and iOS used it all for some time before things got switched with iOS 7 more or less "just because" essentially.

The 5 dots idea was great and people ran for iphone instead of samsung or other android phones bcos apple came up with creativity feature with great look ...the dots should continue in exchange of boring bars ..i salute steve jobs for his great work!
Well, again, liking it or not, that's purely subjective and different for different people. Just because it was different doesn't make it better, and apparently Apple thought so as well. And, again, this has nothing to do with Android or anything of the sort, the bars are basically a standard that even Apple used and realized that it would be better to go back to it seems.

Do you actually believe people chose the iPhone because it had dots as a signal indicator instead of bars?
