Here are some pics of my gunmetal carbon sophiguard skin. Installation was a breeze; I did use a hair dryer on the edges for piece of mind but not sure it was really needed. Decided not to install the trackpad skin as I like the smooth glass feel.

Ordered on a Saturday and arrived the following Friday.

I have a question for the people out there worth Sophiguard skins.

I ordered and installed the matte black version. It looks great but the only issue is it picks up fingerprints and marks as much as the original MK material did! 😂. They’re much easier to wipe off , but I find myself very often having to wipe it down. I’m thinking this is an obvious consequence of my skin being matte black - do other people find their sophiguard skins show fingerprints and marks? I might go with the honeycomb version instead for example.

This is exactly why I didn’t chose the matte black version. I originally wanted that one because it looked like there wasn’t anything on the MK. However, the real reason I wanted a skin was to reduce the need of wiping down the MK every single day!

I can say the Carbon edition does not show any finger prints so I’d assume the honeycomb would be the same.

Thanks- that’s really good to know. When it’s clean the matte black looks amazing, but I feel I’ve traded one problem for another. I’ll go with one of your suggestions I think.

Prior to ordering from Sopiguard, I asked them a bunch of questions regarding their skins which they answered in great detail. In the exchange they mentioned that the matte black was a total fingerprint magnet 🥴. So, I opted for the black brushed metal instead. Doesn’t show any fingerprints but I screwed up the install a bit around the Apple logo and now it’s driving me crazy 😣.

Yes I can identify! My install actually went great, but I wish I‘d asked them the questions you had before hand. Ive ordered the honeycomb black one now.

What was the problem you had around the Apple logo by the way?

Just want to jump in quickly here and give my experience with Sopiguard quickly:

I received an email from USPS saying that my order was delivered but was nowhere in sight for me but then I realized that when i ordered it I was half asleep at 4AM and accidently screwed up the address, small mistake right? Nope USPS could not do anything for me and countless calls later and turns out its indefinitely lost.

So, annoyed that I just burned $25 I emailed sopiguard explaining what happened and they responded back saying they could ship me a replacement for $10, I felt that was a good gesture especially because I was at fault.

Order is on the way (Matrix) and looking forward to it!

My brushed black skin does NOT show fingerprints. Overall I am very happy with it!

I went ahead & ordered a Decal Girl Composition book cover for MK, as I noticed there marks & scuffs and I only use it on large mousepads. I didn't want to imagine what it will look like, when I am finally going back outside regularly.

It's not an exact fit, but I don't need it to be. Just as long as it covers the bulk of the area that rests on tabletops.

The other side, I have well protected enough for me, with Bruce Lee.

Which means, now I can consider sticker bombing my base side of the keyboard.

I too ordered, and should be receiving the SopiGuard Carbon today. Looking forward to it. I have been loyal to iCarbons for sometime now, but due to the Covid shutdowns, looks like they have shut down now. Too bad.. they were great. Can anyone recommend a good carbon skin for the smart folio? I sometimes swap out from the keyboard to the folio when the keyboard isn't needed... but so far only found one brand of skin for the folio.

Finally had time to get the SopiGuard installed. Went with the Black Honeycomb. Extremely happy with the results. Looks fantastic in person, feels great to have a little texture. Not difficult to put on but certainly recommend using some heat after you get it down and flat. If you do have to peel it back because of a stubborn bubble just go really super slow, otherwise you will stretch the material because as others mentioned it’s a bit thinner than some of the other stuff I’ve used in the past.

Yep, you’re doing great Ad work for them ;) I have the hive Dbrand skin for the back of my Pro(That’s the exact same pattern as this), Had to order this skin when I saw your post. Comes today!

Just a heads up for anyone that has a few bumbles on installation of the Sopiguard skin. Allow a few days for the bubbles to work themselves out before applying heat and Pealing back up. From my experience they released ALL on their own.

You’ve got to post some pics! I already had a matte version of the BestSkinsEver for the back of my iPad Pro and since getting this installed I’ve had to continually talk myself out of pulling off the BSE and ordering the Hive from DBrand.

Just came across some MK skins for anyone in the UK. I have used these guys for other devices and they have been great!

Nice

Certainly better than spending £30 on shipping

Just ordered leather skin. They said arrive next Thursday so week after should ship

Awesome, let us see some pics please once applied.
Fingers crossed i don’t mess it up. Hopefully it won’t be too hard i had issues doing the skin on the iphone when i had to wrap it to the sides but least on the keyboard it shouldn’t be as difficult.

Way easier to apply to the MK than and iPhone skin imo. Shouldn’t really run into any problems, just follow the directions.

Hopefully the leather effect allows for some grip over the flat versions as some people have mentioned skins make the cover slippy. The leather style is the one I'm considering - but I'm also thinking of the Pull & Bear covers as I'm not sure if the glue from a skin will effect the AMK finish once removed?

I’m ok if it’s a little slippery the marks on the MK cover is driving me nuts as it’s just annoying dirt makes even when it’s just sittting there. The leather will stop this
