How do we know the natural doesn't have a PVD coating and he just hasn't polished it yet?
If it scratches that easy I'm going with that being polishable.

I've had a couple of graphite steel Apple Watches and neither had a scratch on them, I still own the S7 graphite and it's mint.
They should take a little knock but obviously not as durable as the SB DLC watches. Though I do feel we'll get users posting pics of the angled bezel of the Ultra getting chips not long after launch.

All of the titanium Series 10 watches have a PVD coating. You can't polish the scratches out without affecting the coating. Even the Natural.

I'm with you though, all of the 15 Pros have a PVD coating and my phone doesn't have a case--it looks almost new. PVD is durable--but the reviewer clearly wasn't treating this watch like it mattered for it to be so damaged in a week's time.

... and a reviewer showing off how the watch gets damaged will tend to gain more clicks (revenue) then one who does not.

How do we know it's not just gunk? My SS looks 'scratched' sometimes and it's just dried sunscreen and dirt.

To be fair, he didn't mention the scratches at all--he didn't draw any attention to it.

When I watched the video yesterday, I thought it was all fingerprints until someone in this thread shared a comment on the video from the creator stating it was scratches.

I'm still not convinced this guy's watch doesn't simply need to be cleaned, agree with ya there.
He would have had to have been handling it like garbage for a week to actually be that scratched up.

Good clarification, thanks. I prefer reading articles vs watching videos and thus rarely watch such reviews.

Dark watches look cheap, silver stainless Steel and titanium look classy and more like a watch; everything I have is darker in tech apart from the watch, and the bezels are horrible so might return and stick with series 7. You don’t even get anymore screen it’s so small you don’t notice side by side and no extra lines or txt; that’s why they compared them to the 4 year old series 6. Shocking apple

I went to  Store this morning to pickup my phone and I bought the Jet Black aluminum. The slate is just a tad lighter. I also had my Space Black Series 5 with me to compare. The slate is just as dark if not darker. If you liked Space Black you will like Slate.

Awesome!! Picking mine up in a few hours so I'm excited!

Thanks for the report. My pickup appointment is after work today. I'll see if I can go in and look before doing the actual pickup. Don't remember if they allow that on launch day, we'll see.

Did you get the alert that said your order is ready for pickup? They didn't really check the time on mine. I showed up about 45 minutes early to my appointment time and they let me go in early.

I’m coming from a Graphite S9, so I ordered Slate, I ordered natural for my wife (to replace her SS S9) and I think I actually prefer the natural 😁 it looks smart and a little different, although the slate does also look nice.

Order shows ready for pickup, but I've tried showing up early in the past and was denied until my appointed time.

It may depend on the store and customer flow as to whether they're flexible.

Really doesn't matter since I won't be able to break away from work until it's time to pick up anyway.

I went to the Apple Store to pick up the Jet Black that I had ordered but ended up leaving with a Slate Titanium. It looks so good in person because I wanted a darker watch.

Slate arrived today, been living with it for half a day. Hated it out the box but thought it was just a case of getting used to it after Ultra 2 but no I really can’t stand the look, personally. It has more depth than the polished black but doesn’t have anything to make it classy looking, in my opinion of course. Picking up a natural tomorrow instead, which I was on the fence about anyway. Although at this stage I’m kind of missing my Ultra 2, the thinness of the 10 doesn’t really seem like the benefit I thought it would be, now I’m used to the ultra, I might just stick with it after all

Picked up my Slate Titanium. It is definitely darker and more on the black side than the previous Graphite. Might be my favorite Apple Watch yet.

Same here - it’s noticeably darker than my Graphite S6 so I’m very happy with it, I love it!

I like dark watches when I’m in social or casual environments and want to be “stylish”, but for people who are in office, especially as they become more senior, I’ve never seen anyone wear anything other than a silver or silver/gold watch.

It’s like dress shoes vs sports shoes, 99% of office works (senior or who want to me senior), wouldn’t wear sneakers to a meeting.

(Im not referring to tech bros / startup people).

Given this, I’m disappointed Apple only has 1 suitable option every year!
