Only 30W? The AMD 5500M has a TDP of 85W and Intel around 45W?

So Apple could maybe push for a 75W M1 chip perhaps for the 16” model.

And it would still last absurdly long because it will have 4 (or more) efficiency cores.
The biggest Mac charger is 96 W, so 75 W for CPU+GPU may be too high for sustained use. MBP 16" is also very noisy at full power, which people take as a sign of low quality. Apple will probably want to reduce the power usage significantly, so 50-60 W seems more likely for the highest-spec MBP chip.

5500M TDP is 50W. Apple runs the Intel CPU at max 60W sustained.

Combined TDP of CPU+GPU in the 16” is around 70-80 watts if I remember correctly. It is not able to run both at full speed simultaneously (few laptops can). Which is not a practical problem as workloads that put max pressure on both CPU and GPU are practically non-existent. Only software that does that are stress test suites.

30W CPU, 30WGPU, continuous rating. You'd easily be able to run both at full load for extended periods of time without excessive noise. An important factor for certain content creators. I don't make music, but if I did, 4500 RPM fan noise would probably bother me.
