I bet you are wrong. This is a known issue with 11.4.1.

Google it.
[doublepost=1536344231][/doublepost]

My error was updating to 11.4.1, which has this known issue of destroying your phone’s wifi.

Or I guess you could say my error was buying an iPhone in the first place.

Out of the 7 iPhones in my house, my phone is the only one not on 11.4.1 (it's on 12). All the other phones (and 4 iPads) are on 11.4.1. None of them have problems with wifi at all.

Sorry you're having issues, but I doubt this is a widespread problem with 11.4.1, otherwise Apple would've released a fix in the two months since it was released.

What model phone?
What have you done to resolve the issue?
Why is no-one else having this issue except for you?
Why are you not sharing this information?

I have the same wifi issue and have been very frustrated by it but had no idea it was this update. When is iOS 12 cming out?

Hmmm... sounds like you didn’t update to 11.4.1 which is the entire point of this thread.

Thanks for the contribution though. I’m sure apple is happy to know you have to jailbreak your phone and stay on 4 year old software to have wifi that actually works.

Use whatever search engine you want. It’s a known issue with 11.4.1 and there is no “both sides”. 11.4.1 destroys wifi on some phones. Full stop.
Known issue? How odd. This is the first time I’m hearing about it. I also have a half dozen iPhone 8Pluses in my household, including myself, and not one has experienced this issue.

Maybe you should actually try to troubleshoot it instead of complaining.

All you have to do is a simple search - there are many many complaints of the same issue with the new update. Don’t bury your head in the sand. Just because you haven’t seen it doesn’t mean that others have not.

I feel like I am a broken record when it comes to these types of things.

People like to complain. End of story. People do not come to forums to make posts about how wonderful their experiences are, people come online to complain about the tiny little things that go wrong, even if its user error. If this was truly a widespread issue, it would have received front page news, not only on this website, but countless of others. They would be actual outrage and Apple would have addressed the issue by now, now that 11.4.1 is over 2 months old. If this was truly such a big deal, we would know about it.

iPhone 6S, iPad Air2 and iPhone X all on 11.4.1 no wifi issues.. What type of trouble shooting have the two posters that are having issues tried isolate the problem?

There. Is. No. Known. Solution.

Google is your friend.

"It won’t be wrong to say that Apple is usually not transparent when it comes to acknowledging problems plaguing their devices and sharing what they are doing to address them.

But that doesn’t seem to be the case with the iOS 11.4.1 update-triggered WiFi issue, which we were the first publication to highlight.

Apple Support confirmed to us that they have received multiple reports regarding the problem (which causes frequent loss of Internet connectivity when connected to WiFi), and will be fixing the same in an incremental update."

The problem is 11.4.1. There are no solutions until we get a software update. Apple is aware of the issue.

Complaining about the 'problem' is easier to talk about. ;)

Yes, wifi disconnecting every 3 minutes is hardly a problem. Gotta love Apple sheep.

Thing is something like that if truly widespread would be on the front page. It might be a problem not affect just a few people but it’s not widespread.

Also, I seem to have this issue on my iPad Pro on the most recent public beta. It frequently tells that it can’t access the internet right after I unlock it.

The good news keeps on rolling in.

Impossible to update to iOS 12 beta as wifi crashes eventually lock the update and it sticks at "11 minutes to download" permanently.

The phone is now utterly useless to me.

Maybe try "reverse tethering" your iPhone to a computer, so you can download iOS 12 beta.

EDIT: Via bluetooth instead of WiFi.

Don't have bluetooth on my PC.

But hey... the phone has been updating for 4 hours now, showing 13 minutes remaining. Maybe it will finish updating and be more useful than a paper weight some day. Or maybe I just should have stayed with Android.

i got issue with wifi and battery drain iphone 5s. Yes even changed new battery.

My Conclusion, repair my huawei nova lite broken screen and buy new redmi 5. 5S stick for testing xcode only.

I prefer 5s because small, but 11 update making the software hmm aa..

Ok. So here's the deal.

You can just take the phone to Apple. If they can replicate the issue they'll just swap the phone out. As often as you say it's happening it seems like this is a really simple fix.

You keep coming back and telling people
To google. Why? Nobody here with a working phone needs to be convinced of anything. At all.

I'm not sure how or why it's worth your time to keep coming back and try and convince people Apple did a terrible job with quality control. Really. If people are having issues with their phones they may already feel this way. If they're not, well, you're not going to change their minds when their device works without issues.

Take it in or at least give Apple a call and see what they tell you. Report back. Good luck! So far every response here with the exception of one or two has attempted to help. But you can only receive the help you accept.

Yet you never mention 11.4.1 on the title nor in your first post.

I have 11.4.1 on my 6S and iPads. None of them seem to exhibit wifi issues. Having said that, try changing the channels of your wifi router. Some devices seem to be finicky with certain channels. I know some of my Android phones have issues with some channels of the 5GHz band. And if you think it's not working, 4 months, you're still within warranty. Get it replaced.

not sure why you dont take it to apple. They will swap it if they can see the problem. Not sure I see the issue here. the phone is less than a year old just take it to apple. done

It quite obviously doesn’t affect every single iPhone 8 so to say there are no solutions is ludicrous.

If you speak with Apple they can sort you a replacement phone. You’re spending more time whining about the problem than actually getting it fixed.

There is no fix for the issue other than to get off 11.4.1.

Thankfully, after about 8 failed attempts, the wifi stayed on long enough to install iOS 12 which has completely resolved the issue.
