I'm going with Nexus for my tablet and selling the iPad Air. Why?

Multi-user accounts and side by side apps. Goddamn it Apple. All that space and you don't use it.

Is that a confirmed feature already?

I'll just enjoy higher quality tablet apps on my iPad.

And I'll be getting more stuff done on my productivity device instead of all this back and forth, double home button pressing business.

Not sure why people get bumhurt because you are preferring this, as if it is a personal insult

They sound like Missionaries from several centuries ago. No, screw your religion even though you believe in the same God as me. Cults vs cults.

I know. Everyone feels the need to make a sly comment. I just need a tablet that works better for me in a productivity environment. If I just streamed content all day, iPad is a no brainer. But the lack of user accounts is ridiculous at this point.

You know, I need to do some digging. I know it's a half-baked Touchwiz feature, but I heard that Android L would have this native.

Well, it would be pretty strange at this point if Google didn't make it happen on their own stock devices. But it probably is for a later update as they would likely have made sure to mention it for the Nexus 9 launch otherwise.

On the Note 4 it actually seems quite well developed and much more versatile than it has been so far. Now you can open apps in floating windows and minimise them into icons that float on top of whatever else you're doing. So you could for instance be playing a game and quickly open the camera to shoot something you happen to see, without having to exit the game and open the camera as separate steps.

I'm hoping for news from Google about this soon as currently this is one point that I hold in favour of the Note 4 over the Nexus 6. For the Nexus 9 though of course it would be even more useful. That would definitely be one point up for the N9 over the iPad. Unless of course Apple announces that they have this too, which could be any day really... (at least side by side apps, I'm guessing they wouldn't be able to do the floating window thing.)

I an intrigued by the front facing speakers.

Definitely also one point up for the Nexus 9.

So, say you were using a website for reference while typing up in pages. You're fine with constantly swapping between them?

Sorry what? I said I'll enjoy better tablet apps, that is fact. I never said the OP is stupid for getting the Nexus.

That's why I don't use my iPad for productivity purposes:D

But not really I was forced to do that very thing for a week while my laptop was in repair. I wouldn't do that again of course and I see in no way how tablets could possibly be productive in anyway. They are entertainment devices through and through. Other than the Surface Pro 3 I don't think they can truly be productive.

Why are people implying I'm an Apple fan/Nexus hater here? Jeez. Get a grip on yourself people;)

I'm actually excited for this release. I already have a samsung Tab, running cyanogen Mod, and its ok. But i would rather have the full experience of a stock android device.

And it seems google is starting to put 64 bit cpus in their tablets now. I wonder what apps we will be seeing next on android.

Sheeesh, the Nexus 9 must have had a longer speculation period than the Mac Mini!

I gave up waiting for the Nexus 9 a few months ago and bought a Samsung Tab S 8.4. So far, I really like it.

I think if you are at the point where you are irritated by what a stranger says about some electronic devices on the internet, it is a good time to do some deep breathing and really think about some things.

Curious to know why you think that it is a half baked feature in Touchwiz. It works very well for me on my Note tablet , Note 3, S4 and S3.

Who is irritated? LOL! I posted an equally useless response as the OP.

This thread is pointless, so I decided to also post a response that was equally pointless.

The original iPad was innovative. The retina iPad was nice. The 5th or 6th iPad which is literally the same as the first ipad with newer hardware is not nice. The software is the exact same. Microsoft and Google's software is catching up and surpassing. These companies could easily drop $1 billion on third party app development, and suddenly the iPad quite literally has nothing special going for it.

We're going on 4 YEARS of iPads and we still can't browse the web in safari at the same time as we watch a video in video player or netflix. This isn't even a complicated flow, it's a very common one. Multitasking is high in demand and apple has completely **** the bed, they've offered nothing beneficial or even remotely useful in terms of multitasking so far.

If Apple is going to stand still in lala land and not fix seemingly unanimous core issues with their product 4 years in, then I'm going to become less and less forgiving, and I'll do exactly as Steve Jobs has said and vote with my wallet by walking down the street and buying a Surface, or a Nexus 9. If you haven't noticed, Microsoft didn't lose 900 million dollars on their latest Surface. Microsoft's getting better at this and Apple's apparently not.

Half-baked? I have a Samsung tablet (2014 Galaxy Note 10.1), I've used the windowed apps on occasion, it's pretty sweet. I can be browsing a web site and carry on a Hangouts conversation at the same time and never change what's actually on the screen.

Maybe this is different than the side-by-side?
