And I'll be getting more stuff done on my productivity device instead of all this back and forth, double home button pressing business.

Right, because a 9" screen is IDEAL for multi-tasking. Instead of a single 9" window you are now working with 2 tiny smartphone windows.

Real productive

Google has never made hardware.

Not only that but the Nexus 7, made by ASUS is of excellent build quality, especially considering the price. Too bad they gave up making tablets that were low priced and high quality. The Nexus 9 is a giant step backwards.

It has its uses.

I agree with Traverse. A lot of people would love multi-window on their tablets. I cannot tell you how many time I am watching a show that is 30 mins, but takes me about an hour to watch it b.c I am constantly searching the web at the same time. Multi-window is only a good thing.

iPad Air > Nexus 9 in my opinion. Considering they're both the same price (Air Gen 1), I find there's more value in Apple's tablet.

Splitting a 9" screen into 2 equal parts really defeats the purpose of having that larger screen to begin with. Not only do you get a mediocre show watching experience but you also get a mediocre web surfing experience.

A friend of mine has a Note 4 and he rarely uses the split screen functions and when I asked him why his response was "If I wanted to work in a small window I would have bought a smaller phone".

I really enjoy my Surface Pro 3 for this purpose. As an example, using the Facebook app and I tap or click on a link, it immediately splits the screen, Facebook on the left and the opened link on the right.

Anything can be opened on the right or left and another app opened in the opposite and you can slide the divider in any direction to give more or less space to either app.

I sure wish the iPad could do this. It makes working on things so much easier. Of course this is a 12" screen.

Split screen apps makes sense if the screen is large enough not to cripple the experience. I use split screen on my Macbook when I need to but still prefer single window.

However, at work I have 2 22" monitors so it's a no brainer.

That is a matter of preference though. People use multi window on a 5.7" note.

A few things here:

- The split screen feature is NOT system wide. You cannot choose any 2 apps. the apps that are available for this function are limited.

- Most of the Note users I've talked to have told me they don't use the function because they prefer to use the entire screen rather than run 2 apps side by side which display both app windows as if they are being viewed on 2 screens that are smaller than an iphone 4.

I never used multi-window on my S2 (custom rom), or my S5, or tablet. I mean I checked it out, but didn't see what the use/point was. Android is too fast and easy to multitask anyway for switching that no need for me to run two apps or whatever split. On a laptop where the screen real estate is bigger is one thing, tablet or especially a phone is another. But hey, if some people like it, more power to them .... 'least Android gives them the option of doing so.

After hearing all of the reviews for the N9. I think I am going to stick with the N7 2013 for a while.

One thing, I will say is the build quality is pretty good (for an Android tablet) ;). I think Phablets are starting to replace the mini tablets and that is probably the reason why they axed the N7.

I'm sure that was indeed the reason. The n7 is barely larger than my iPhone 6+. But since it gives me the Android platform I'll be keeping the N7. But you're 100% correct that the small tablets are doomed since phones are so nearly the same size now.

I agree. Soon you will see people walking around with phablets and hybrids. Some with just phablets! Ubuntu phone is supposed to allow you to use it as a phone, then you can dock it and get the full Ubuntu OS. Windows 10 may follow suit.
