So i have been thinking after todays world wide release delay and have been pondering the real reason behind it, i dont take the "due to overwhelming US demand" crap as by Apple's own figures they have only sold an extra 150k since launch day.

To fully understand the issue, I suggest you get an MBA degree with a specialty in supply chain logistics. It's not a simple subject. And companies can and have lost million of dollars per day by ramping production rates too much or too little. Probably none of the MBA's in Apple's manufacturing arm wants to do that and get fired.
