I have had my SE2 now for several weeks after upgrading from a cracked SE1. Obviously its an upgraded phone at a great price, but I still hate the new form factor as much as the day I picked it up due to its size and rounded edges. One handed operation is possible but no picnic, and it is so slippery that just begs to be dropped (as it already has, many times). Apple took an unpleasant design detour after iPhone 5 that I hope will be abandoned soon.

With the recent hot rumours of the 5.4” iPhone 12 being the flat-sided, full screen, reasonably-priced compact powerhouse a lot of original SE fans had been clamouring for, I would predict the regrets probably won’t be a thing until September. ;)

And the unsolicited justification of why they’re better off with the SE.

Yeah, this is still how I'm feeling. I haven't gotten a case yet, partially because I'm still not sure if that will be "enough" for me to be happy, and I hate to waste money on a case only to end up switching back to my old SE. But I guess I ought to go ahead and get a case (maybe even something like a Loopy case) to try and force myself into using this and hopefully learning to like it, just so I can get the advantages of the better camera, faster processor, and larger screen.

I have a great case from Spigen I got on Amazon. Try amazon. If you don’t like the case they make it real easy to return.

I LOVE Loopy cases!! The one on my SE is my 5th! When I first got the SE, I knew the Loopy would be delayed because they were short-staffed, and I struggled. I know that sounds ridiculous, but the Loopy makes using a phone one-handed an absolute dream. I could almost reach every spot on my 11 with my Loopy on if I really reached and stretched.

Now that I have my Loopy on the SE, it’s seriously a perfect size device for me. I MAY go with the 5.4 phone in the fall if it’s still lightweight, but I’m honestly not sure. After 6 generations of big phones, I was so ready for this!

I don’t think you could go wrong with a Loopy.

What I’ve learned from using the SE this past week is that I don’t need a $1000+ phone for what I use it for. Which is basically texting, some social media, browsing the internet and other minor things. Taking pics here and there and listening to Spotify.

Yeah the screen is smaller but I don’t game or consume a lot of media on my phone. I may watch a YouTube video here and there but I’m not watching movies.

The battery is fine. I’m always near a charger for the most part if I need a quick charge. It’s always plugged in when I’m in my truck.

I use an 8 at work and I love the old form factor. It’s a joy to use but I’d still never give up my 11 Pro. Best phone I’ve ever had.

I agree with this 100%. Battery life and build quality is amazing. Only thing I hate is how heavy it is. I have an upgrade available through VZW and have been contemplating if I want to take advantage of the Walmart offer for the $199 SE. I guess I could still do it and keep my 11 Pro, and have this as a backup.

Hi! Out of curiosity what does your loopy case look like on your SE?

For those with two iPhones on Verizon.. if I were to “use my upgrade” and get the SE through Walmart, am I able to switch back and forth between the SE and my 11 Pro, or can I do that only when it’s paid off?

BasicGreatGuy posted the thread link where I shared a pic. I’m sure you saw it, but I didn’t want to not acknowledge your question. ;)
That's a nice case. I've never seen a case with such a discreet loop to place your finger.

If I’m understanding your scenario accurately:

If you have two phones under the same phone number on the same carrier account, you can use/switch your Sim card in between phones that you’re choosing to use, that’s not a problem at all.

Just be sure to power off both devices before you switch your Sim card to whatever device you choose to use, then power your phone back on after the Sim card has been inserted.

I do this all the time between other iPhone models I have owned over the years.

Honestly, I think I like it even more as time goes on. It’s just so nice to have the smaller size. Also, even though the battery doesn’t last as long as my 11, it charges up to 100% really quickly with the iPad charger.

Got mine on launch day also no regrets the differences for me were minor since i upgraded from an iPhone 8.

The reason to upgrade was for the dual sim ability as well as further future proofing against future iOS updates

The only annoyance I've found is that screen protectors don't work correctly like they have done on the iPhone 8 but aside from that been happy with the device.

Screen protectors designed for 8 do not work well on SE? Why so?

Awesome, thanks!!
